Unit abilities stopped working and display status tooltips instead

On Xbox Series X in the scenario where you have to slay the Tervigon, all my unit abilities showed the tooltips for the status effects instead and I couldn’t activate some of them. I will try to reload a save and see if that fixes it. This game is very buggy on Series X :(

I made a manual save but just like in the Kemrender scenario I cannot go back and reload, the game just hangs. So now I have a couple hours wasted and have to start over. Why is it so hard to port PC games to console without them turning into a buggy mess? I have run into numerous problems with PC ports and it really makes me angry because I don’t enjoy playing on PC any more.

The level this occurred at is the Salt Exchange and it happens right after the cut scene when the boss appears. Looking at the reviews on Xbox other people have reported the same problem over a month ago.
