Sorry I bought it
I loved the original game and had a 50% off coupon so I bought it. Mistake, the UI is terrible (Tab key to investigate a hex instead of right-clicking on it? Please.)
I think there's a great game in here but I'm never going to see it because the UI is so unfriendly and atrocious. Good luck to the rest of you. The original was gold.

I can't even get the slitherine version to run without either locking up before the game u/i or after my first turn. I also used a coupon and am glad I didn't pay full price. Fortunately, the steam version works fine for me, but having not played MoM in the past, the tutorial is atrocious and I'm having a hard time figuring things out.

I really like the UI. Confused how someone could say its 'atrocious'. But to each their own. And the tab key toggles the surveyor mode. Which I think is an awesome addition. You can just toggle it on when you want to check out some tiles, toggle off when good. (maybe give it more of a chance?)
For actrade - To get used to things again. I started a few games, and each time I'd go into setting and reset tutorials. They are actually pretty good. Each screen you go to basically has a tutorial which highlights what everything does. But it can be good to go through them a couple times. Even after you get a game going and you want to stick with it, you can still go reset the tutorials for a refresher.

Per the Surveyor, you don't need to use the 'tab key', just click on the top round button to the lower right with the mouse.

Personally I have no issues, but I do feel the chosen price point brings expectations of a more modernized game.

I raised a ticket this morning (UK), I have Windows 11, The game freezes if normal start or hangs on enemy turn 1 for hours and never completes on Quick Start. I also cannot check for updates as I get: Client Script, Line 24:3 arguements required
I was not running the game in Steam, just from my laptop.
I expect there are teething problems with any new game. And problems were not envisaged on windows 11 as all testing might have been done on windows 10. We just have to be patient.
I look forward to hearing news that problems have been solved.

If it's the Slitherine version you can follow the last 5 steps in the sticky post to try the same fix:
- Locate the game executable MoM.exe (the application file).
- Right-click it and go to Properties.
- Click the Compatibility tab.
- Check the "Run this program as an administrator" box.
- Click Apply. Having done this, {restart Steam and} try launching the game again.

The game looks good, but I will only buy it once there are zoom keys (if ever).
