Home Of Wargames Live+ 2021 was our first attempt to gather the gaming community and to share with each and every one of you both what we're working on at the moment and what we're planning to do soon. Very soon.
Slitherine Group's known for its focus on hardcore-strategy games, and we've been receiving exciting feedback and constructive criticism from our "niche" community since day one. That's how we like it: we share, we discuss, we improve, we grow. Home Of Wargamers Live+ 2021 showed just that. And while we are still focused on providing the best wargames, we are also growing and challenging ourselves to reach new audiences, who will enjoy our newest IPs, alongside our core games.
"Slitherine is currently investing in more than 15 unannounced projects and has over £10m invested in active development projects. We strive to bring strategy gaming to a wider audience, with a coherent mix of owned IPs and licensed properties. 40 different development studios of varied sizes are contributing to this long-term project, of which today we just unveiled a tiny fraction", said Iain McNeil, CEO Slitherine.
We announced four new, exciting games
A large-scale real-time modern warfare tactics game. It features American and Russian factions, more than 100 units, and multiple deck specializations per nation. The game brings the genre to a whole new level by combining the complexity of a joint-forces wargame with the typical real-time tactics action-packed gameplay.
A simultaneous turn-based dogfighting game.
Set in a 3D airspace, the game features dynamic flight physics for the best and most realistic tactical combat experience. The Luftwaffe and RAF fighter squadrons go head-to-head over the English Channel. Competing players simultaneously issue control inputs for multiple aircraft while time is paused.
An extremely faithful reboot of the original game, with identical gameplay mechanics and the same, overwhelming amount of content, which allowed for endless replayability. The original Master of Magic was published in 1994 and set the rules for the 4X genre. It is still considered - and played - as one of the timeless masterpieces of strategy.
The first-ever strategy PC game, based on the fan-favorite series, Stargate SG-1. Players will travel through time and space, save civilians from the threats of their system lords, rescue their friends and allies from danger, and much more. Stargate: Timekeepers depart from the end of season 7 of the Stargate SG-1 main plot to create a wholly original story starting during the Battle of Antarctica, where Command Eva McCain and her team are tasked with supporting the SG-1 against Anubis’s fleet.
We also gave you a full update on Slitherine Group with our CEO Iain McNeil who talked about 2021 results and figures while our CFO JD McNeil discussed the latest news regarding Slitherine's PRO segment. We showed you some interesting new features from Command 2.0 and, of course, we gave you an update on our Wargames portfolio.
We dedicated the second part of the event to what we like the most: gameplay.
So, together with our Production Team and Slitherine's Brand Managers, we watched the first-ever gameplay of Starship Troopers: Terran Command. We also took a look at Warhammer 40.000 Battlesector and our "classic" Distant Worlds 2.
