Re: Countdown HYPE: 0

Dear Forum in 4 hours, you and me and many others not reading this will start invading Poland. I will probably be a bit late, as I just finish working around that time. Most people who don't know Panzer General/Corps are all WTF about me invading Poland, I am glad that I have this forum and that I ...

Re: Countdown HYPE: 0

6 hours from 10am UK, so 4pm? Little disapointed, why so late? I had freed up my day based on release date hoping, or rather assuming, it would be available to purchase from 9am or around that time. My experince from Steam is that games tend to get released in the late afternoon/early evening (GMT)...

Re: Countdown HYPE: 0

Here is to hoping that the “surprise” mentioned elsewhere in the forum is a release time earlier than 1800 GMT. Steam says 6 hours. I put my faith in Steam. 6 hours from 10am UK, so 4pm? Little disapointed, why so late? I had freed up my day based on release date hoping, or rather assuming, it woul...

Re: 4k monitor

Wow! I really would like that. But first I suppose I would need a graphics card that supports 4K and so a PC that is powerful enough to support that card :/ What I mean is I can't just go out and buy a good value 23 inch 4k monitor and slap it against my current PC with its Nvidia GTX760 card,,, can...

Re: Red Star, my favourite so far, Why and a question..

Thanks folks. Whilst there may be some debate on some important specifics, I've picked up so much from this thread that it HAS improved my game to such an extent that I have started Blitzkrieg again from scratch. Unless the Devs have simplified difficulty or re balanced since I played it a few years...

Re: Red Star, my favourite so far, Why and a question..

@Steevodeevo: Try dropping elite reinforcements (except for fighter planes) altogether from your game. This allowed me to always buy all the fancy equipment I wanted and finish all campaigns easily (on medium). Ahh, interesting. I have to say there is something in this, I am obsessed with my row of...

Red Star, my favourite so far, Why and a question..

Hi Folks, I just can't put down this game. As has been said interminably, OOB seems to have found the right balance between accessibility and depth, even for a hardened grognard. For now Messers Grigsby, Runacre, Carter and the HOI Team, my apologies. Red Star is for some reason my favourite expansi...

This is why I still play this game and have every expansion despite being totally inept at the game. I love this forum community and support.

Re: Defeat in Red Star: Raseiniai scenario, don't understand why?

I didn't get a red cross / fail at all. I misunderstood the objective (in two different ways as it happens, but never mind), but in each case the ? remained in place (despite having failed) until the very last turn of the game and the scenario timer ran out, at which point it told me I had failed. T...

Re: Defeat in Red Star: Raseiniai scenario, don't understand why?

Thanks Bru, Your post made me stop and think. To my dismay I found that I was having a total mental blind spot for the secondary victory zone in the north ...5 times in a row in the end. For some reason I didn't see that the hex to hold as on the bridge and I was constantly falling back to defend th...

Defeat in Red Star: Raseiniai scenario, don't understand why?

Hi, I've played through this scenario in a previous run with success. Today I have played through twice and i'm pretty sure I have met the conditions and both times the game ended in Defeat after turn 15. The second run through I played a very defensive game, I didn't go for the secondary objectives...

Re: Order of Battle: World War II - v8.0.4 is available

I'm a Steam user and got the Red Star first mission in error. Whilst teh devs will likely be livid, this is probably teh best PR they coyuld have got, The game exp played very well and was such fun, now I'm really looking forward to the Soviet campaign, plays very differently.

Appreciated Pavel and i hope u r right, but i'm definitely not playing again till i hear about a fix for the map issue. My machine handles every game, has 16mb memory, is always up to date and has never had an out of memory issue with any game, other than a slow down due to a poor memory leak every ...

I'm sure it will be up soon, but in the meantime patch notes can be accessed from a button on the game launch screen.

game patched on Steam in last few days?

Hi. fired up Steam on my laptop today, I haven't used it for around a week, and OOB updated. I can't see any details on Steam or here on forums anywhere of a patch and there is no 'new news' (annoyingly game companies often use a Steam dummy patch to highlight a news item). Any ideas?

Re: Like the game, but map angles and navigation are baffling me.

Darn, screenshots didn't take. I disabled Imgur the other day to speed up my PC startup and it seems print screen from windows is as cr*ppy as ever. I have to report one worrying thing. On both occasions following the game's view getting corrupted (slowing down, the view angle getting stuck, game bo...

Re: Like the game, but map angles and navigation are baffling me.

Hi Pavel, its happened again. Worked fine for several hours then went strange again. Its real late and im super busy, but I will try to post some screen shots as soon as I can that I took before logging out to reset the game which shows what we are dealing with. For now I just want to note that I do...
