Fog 1 nostalgia - FONTENOY 841
Originally intended to support a Fog 1 tournament, the site has pivoted to a primary texts source for ancient and medieval battles. If you have only or mostly learned history through secondary sources, like most people, it is of great interest to read the texts underlying them. It comes with Fog I simulations and I have used Fog II screenshots to illustrate some panels.

Re: Fog 1 nostalgia and primary sources
FoG 1 engine has some nice tricks like opponents changing thier facing to loght units without acccessing the other threats. Failing to sccess threats properly also leads to them not evading if weak unit attacks them first. But it has many nice features thst make skirmishwrs even more powerful like anarchy charges. I dont think there are many caps on Armor, PoA, etc differences if any at all.
You has some nice content posted there btw. Glad someone keeps the game alive.

Intersting how you mixed in FoG 2 screenshots. Any reason why you do FoG 1 engine instead of 2 to begin with?fogman wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 1:24 pm Leuctra 371 BC: https://www.militaryhistorywithfog.com/leuctra-371-bc

It's more accessible in terms of hardware requirements (with Mac version as well), price, game mechanics.SuitedQueens wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 10:22 am Intersting how you mixed in FoG 2 screenshots. Any reason why you do FoG 1 engine instead of 2 to begin with?
I still can't get Fog2 historical battles to behave historically as I can with Fog1.
