Controller zoom controls not working in campaign mode

Hello

I'm having trouble using an xbox controller on the PC version of the game. It's very frustrating because everything works except zoom controls during combat but only in campaign mode. In squirmish mode they work just fine and RT and LT also work correctly while out of combat.

I cannot find any mention if this issue anywhere. Would love to have a solution for this as I much prefer playing games like this with a controller.
