Each time it has been (mid?) in the battle, I think it was while I was moving about the battlefield using the mouse.

Its more a hang than a crash. Suddenly the movement on the screen stops and none of the controls work. Only the sound system carries on. I just see a frozen screen from the last position I had reached.

Hi, there is a bunch of stuff running in the background that could access the internet (Microsoft update, Panda Security etc) but I don't think Outlook Express was running at the time. I have a boxed copy, 2G ram and about 15G free disk space. The previous 2 or 3 occurances did recover from the prev...

Dont forget to save your game!

PC XP Professional SP2 I have found that (on my system) the game tends to occasionally malfunction after an hour or so of playing. That means, the screen freezes (mouse etc.) and there is no response to any keyboard input including Alt/Ctrl/Del. The music tends to carry on though. That is ok in a &q...

PC version
I am about half way through the hard level now having wizzed through normal and so far it is rather dissapointingly similar to Legion Arena. Having said that it is still an interesting and addictive game so I am ok about re-visiting it again in its re-packaged form.

One thing it is easy to overlook (well I often do) is that the ground (rocky / flat/ trees) can have quite an effect on how well units perform. Also it is good to have all your units together with the leader and pick off the enemy units one at a time. I usually (I have gone through the very hard lev...

Hi, I am running through this mod at the Hard level on the Roman campaign and have just reached the fire devils (cannot remember whether that is the correct name) with advanced formations. My leader has run out of skill options (he still gets a + but nothing to add). My perception is that the final ...

Dodge vs Block

I have recently been selecting the Bolck option and its enhancements more and more but I see that others seem to prefer Dodge. My perception is that Block is better than Endurance (so I tend now to select swordmanship and Block) but I am not sure of its relative merits compared with Dodge. Has anyon...

I am quite rushing through this mod on Romans/Hard. I have an impression that it is a little easier in places than the original but that may be as a result of my stress with the end of CoM on Very Hard.

It has enabled me to discover Parry!

A big thanks to you Possum for all the work. The limited fame on the first few battles certainly made me work a bit harder. Is there a slight quirk in that you start with a unit that cannot actually be recruited? I seem to remember disbanding it and then finding I could not get it back. Running thro...

Finished the Brits campaign, cool!!!

Do i gather it only works on the hard setting?

I had a good look around the various directories and cannot find a readme.txt file anywhere from LegionArena down through its sub-directories.

Hi, I downloaded the mod pack and when I started Com the mod box popped up. If I select Brits and then when everything has loaded start a new campaign I get offered Latins, Romans and Celts. Do i take the Romans option and set the difficulty to hard? The first few battles seemed similar to the un-mo...

Gosh, that must have taken you some time to put together, loads of good information, thanks. I had not given much thought to using Drill and Feint before but had concentrated on Endurance and the "anti" skills then adopted the "protection" skills as they came up. More to think ab...

Unit types, skills and equipment

Slitherine have created an enjoyably complex game (simulation?). There are so many options in terms of numbers of units, their type, the skills they are awarded and the equipment they are given that I can see myself running through the campaigns many times in order to try out various combinations. W...
