Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v1.00)(28/03/24)
And that's Tatsinskaya. Lovely attacking scenario, again not too bad for an experience player with a good core. Lots of sunshine again, but I get your point. A tiny bit disappointed that the reward for taking the airfields is only prestige, I sort of hoping for a capturable (being a greedy bugger :)...

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v1.00)(28/03/24)
Incidentally, I never could get into PzC2. I find its voracious resource demands absurd, and all that for visuals that are well below par. It's funny because back in the day I like PzG2, though I still thought it to be a step down from the original.

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v1.00)(28/03/24)
DLC 43 is in the works. The first scenarios are Ostrogozhsk (vs Hungary/Italy) - the campaign opener -, Voronezh43 (vs Germany/Hungary) and Belgorod43 ( vs Germany). Thanks for the background. I think it makes sense to stick with the scenarios you have and not make Serafimovich etc. As you say, the...

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v1.00)(28/03/24)
Finished Saturn. As I wrote above, a nice change of pace from the frantic firefighting of the defensive scenarios. Really gives you the feeling that the tide has turned - very winter 1942. What is NOT very winter any date, is the relentless sunshine. Now, I know that the RNG in Panzer Corps I is not...

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v1.00)(28/03/24)
First impressions Saturn. It's nice to go to the offensive after the frantic defending since Voronezh. Attacking Italians with a nasty, experienced core with two range-movement hero arty and a triple-movement hero KV (I am a lucky bastard!) is a fun turkey shoot. I now have got to the German reserve...

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v1.00)(28/03/24)
OK, I brought this at the fork at the end of Ordzonikidze (a wonderful tough scenario, great fun to play again). Now I have the fork, presumably Saturn-Tatskinskaya vs Uranus S-Winter Storm. I think I'll go with Saturn, even though a lovely Kat gift is included in the Uranus path. I'll report back o...

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v1.00)(28/03/24)
Whoa, Voronezh is a fun scenario. I remember the Germans had a tendency to go up the centre and get mauled at the city itself, but now they really probe the flanks well. Nothing that a good player with a decent core can't handle, but a fun scrap.

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v1.00)(28/03/24)
Hah, I only found one at the end of Pinsk, I'll try that. Won't hurt to replay.
Are you planning to do a Uranus North path (via Kalach, Serafimovich and Stalingrad itself) as the original intent, or are you abandoning that idea?
It's a wonderful campaign overall, such a great mix of challenges.

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v1.00)(28/03/24)
After a very long time, i finally found some time to work on this campaign. Here is the update: Firstly, the dead download link for DLC 37-41 has been renewed. https://www.sendspace.com/file/7syasd Secondly, i have finalised DLC 42. 01.Gorky (vs Germany) 02. Demyansk42 (vs Germany) 03. Izyum (vs Ge...

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm v1.96b (Link Fixed)
Thanks for your full explanation. It is nice to see that I'm not imagining things! And, yes, I am a big artillery freak anyway, my core is always pack full of the heaviest, nastiest tubes plus a smattering of Kats for that good old rocket plastering. But still, when a tank comes to a barely entrench...

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm v1.96b (Link Fixed)
In case the modder is reading the thread, I always meant to ask. It seems like Rugged Defense comes much more often than in the base game, even for low entrenchment values (2s or even 1s). This is for the Forgotten Battles campaign, I didn't check the big maps as big scenarios are not my cup of tea....

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v0.04)(01/04/22)
i'm something like 8-9 scenarios deep in DLC 37-41 and quite impressed! great work all around! although scenario briefings could use more intel and less vodka-driven dumb communist cliches. also, i came to point when BT 7M is available, but its missing SE version. shouldn't it be added also? Actual...

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v0.04)(01/04/22)
I hate bugging modders, who are after all giving us so much fun for free, but... I am going to do what I hate! :D More seriously, I have not dared ask for a long time since I know that we all have real life pressures. But I saw Nico recently post in another thread, so he's back (if he ever was away)...

Re: Should all KV tanks and IS tanks be in same upgrade family?
For me the prestige costs signify the logistical hassle of switching equipment rather than production costs: sending back old equipment, getting new one in, training crews in the new equipment, getting in new ammunition (a big deal in the move from 76mm to 85mm and then 122mm, including for crews si...

Re: Italian Campaign 2.0 (v.1.95 on 6th April 2018)
I tried this campaign, and I see the craftsmanship and love that has gone into it. The various graphical updates are stunning, and I appreciate the effort to show the difficulty that the Italians faced in the real war by going into it without the necessary material and technological resources. I alw...

Re: Italy Corps-Afrika Korps campaign v1.51 (03/02/22)
While patiently waiting for the Stalingrad branch of the Soviet campaign I also went back to this campaign. Playing the Italians is my second favourite to playing the Soviets - very interesting unit mix, even in vanilla: good to excellent fighters, indifferent bombers, bad tanks (the P26 helps, but ...

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v0.03)(12/03/22)
Really promising glimpses. I am looking forward to testing these scenarios when they're ready. I am slightly confused about the equipment file distribution. Do you mean that your modified equipment file will be only available with the DLC-like (split file) release rather than the full single campaig...

Very happy to see Popova included. Even happier to see she will fly an IL-2 and not the sewing machine (Po-2) :D Ah Konig, that completely real and fully substantiated historical figure :) Patiently waiting for the next installment. I've started playing US corps again in the meantime. Zaitsev makes ...

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v0.02)(25/02/22)
Thanks for the kind words, but it is a pleasure to interact with one of the top modders. I will wait patiently for the next update whenever it comes. One little comment on Rzhev-Vyazma. As I said, it was a hard fight to get all the HQs, mostly because of several clear rounds that were very painful f...

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v0.02)(25/02/22)
And that concludes it. DV'ed by taking the German HQs on Turn 14. Very hard fight, loved it. No comments really other than that the Soviet pocket is a bit more Northward than in history (it was more centred round Dorogobuzh to the SW of Vyazma), but this is insignificant. In terms of bonus/capturabl...
