Expansion

SC2 has been successful with their SC2 expansions, Weapons and Warfare and Patton Drives East. I think that you would be pleasently suprised by the support you get if you were to release a CEAW sequel.

Back to SC2

Still disappointed, heading back to SC2! :( You may say good riddance but with a view to stimulating a better CEAW product in the future, here is my list of deficiencies that need to be addressed by CEAW before I beleive that they can compete with the SC2 franchise: 1. Weather. 2. A more comprehensi...

Not as bright as I thought I was!

Thought I knew what I was doing  and made some changes to the ww2.map file. Sure enough I get the error java.lang.StackOverflowError at game.hex.Hex.setOwningCountry(Hex.java:350). This line repeats about 30 times and the game hangs at "loading......." Can anyone take a look at my ma...

Commanders in starting OOB

We need to be able to add commanders into the starting OOB. Germany should start with Runstedt, Bock and Hoth, UK with Gort and Wavell, Poland with Sikorski and Italy with Graziani.

Adding Resources (Cities and Ports)

If I add new cities and ports do I need to save the map as well or will they be saved when I save the scenario?

When I add a new city or port and give it a name and production value will that automatically update the .txt file that holds all of the place names?

You have mentioned that the editor will have a basic map modding tool as well as scenario modding tool, absolutely fantastic. What about event scripts? It would be nice for modders to be able to add event scripts for annexation of territories, historical arrival of certain units, transfer of "f...

Modding the starting OOB

To say that your game is "moddable" you absolutely HAVE to provide moddability to the starting order of battle for each scenario.

Initial Thoughts

I was a big SC2 player and modder and from this background my inital thoughts are: 1. The scale is perfect. 2. The interface and overall feel are fantastic. 3. At this scale, paratroop/airborne units are needed. 4. Fortification of hexes should be an option during the game. (No individual engineer u...

Thanks Slitherine. I have been away from this genre since I got bored with SC2. Great game so far. SC2 really missed the boat on map scale. (We'll see how the new expansion turns out but kudos to Slitherine) What is needed: (I have not played past June 1940 so I apologize if some of these ARE in the...

Filling out the map

The game so far looks awesome. I am a HUGE modder of SC2 and one of the things that I found looking in the default campaigns was the need for other types of terrains and minor ports and cities. I modded these into SC2 but there is limitations on what you can do with them. At this scale there is even...

New poster here guys, straight from the SC2 forums. Hello to all of the SC2 regulars. Wow, what a beautiful map, reminds me of the old SSP European Theater of Operations boardgame, a classic. More terrain types, smoking factories, waves, I think a classic computer wargame is in the works here, espec...
