Thank you Pip, that line of code did wonders!
I played the whole first tutorial, crushed the Roman legions, and I'm ready to start my second battle.
I also updated to version 1.01, I don't know if that also helped
Thanks again

Re: crash to power off
Well, I cleaned my computer heat sinks that were indeed clogged by dust.
This allowed me to reach turn 3 of the tutorial before I had the usual shutdown. So obviously, there is a link between the heat and the crashes, but now that my computer is clean, I don't know what to do.

Re: crash to power off
well, it seems that these old drivers are still the latest ones relative to my old equipment...
I thought that "**WARNING**:AddUIListboxItem Invalid string index: 149865208" in the error_trace.txt could be a clue, but I don't know anything more.
I will try dusting the insides

crash to power off
I never had this issue with any game before. I tried the tutorial 3 times and could not even finish my first turn before my PC turned off. Incredible, no freeze, no crash to desktop, or even to BIOS. My computer just turns off... I tried a quick battle to see if it was related to the tutorial but it...

Russian perfection
Hi, I upgraded my game to the latest version and immediately started a game as Central Powers. I was quickly surprised by the nasty attacks the Russian delivered who kicked the Austrians, the Turks and even the German. But I see that their stats are better than the German ones, every Russian infantr...

Re: Artillery LOS glitch?
Hello, I have sometimes the reverse problem, I am told that other troops or fortification prevent me from shooting my artillery at an enemy, but when I click on the LOS button on top of the screen, the enemy is clearly in the orange OK LOS zone. Why ?

Re: cannot charge
Say that the enemy cavalry is fighting instead of pursuing but still showing its flank to my Tercio. After the new patch is installed, the Tercio will be able to do nothing, nor charging (fixed by the patch) nor shooting (because the cavalry is in melee).
Is that realistic?

I'm playing a multiplayer game at the moment, my opponent is 17th century Swedish and I'm an unknown nationality catholic (i did not set up the challenge) Here's the situation, a bunch of Swedish Veteran horse units are scaring away some of my light troops and pursue them parallel to my line of terc...

Re: Battle of Bicocca
I just realized that the AI is cheating on Bicocca ! As if wasn't hard enough for the franco-Swiss to win against these well entrenched and numerous Imperials. I reloaded the battle just to catch the AI doing something impossible: When the poor Swiss Keils finally get close to the enemy wall, the im...

missing PBEM emails
It never happened to me playing Field Of Glory by PBEM before. But I'm finding that maybe 1 or 2 times out of 3, I do not receive the Slitherine email telling me that my opponent played his turn. I have to open regularly the Pike & Shot multiplayer window to discover if my opponent played his tu...

Re: demo
In fact, there is a demo now, which I plan to download ASAP. The link to it is REMINDED in the Slitherine January Newsletter, but the game webpage on Slitherine doesn't mention it. If there is no demo, usually I don't buy a game. I'm happy to check soon how is the game. Too bad it appears that the d...

game crash, MP with Pantherboy
The game crashes during replay. This is early 1916, Russia (me) has already surrendered, then Pantherboy (CP) redeclared war to Russia in order to free some isolated units. The game crashes systematically while replaying. The game was started in an earlier version than 1.4, I don't know if it matter...

Re: Vom Auflösung: Scrap both CP Battle Fleets!
Yes, I like your ideas. I started an MP game against a CP player that sold out his fleets and labs at the beginning of the 1914 game: Germans are all over France, deep in Serbia and Russia and it's not even spring 1915! Killing his Baltic convoys in exchange doesn't compensate for this huge boost. I...

The thing is that, in the real war, both Serbia and Romania surrendered but it did not improve dramatically the situation of the Central Powers
