Re: Second Move-Further Clarifications Requested

Thank you Blathergut!
That was how we have been playing it, until earlier this week when Interpretation 2 was suggested.

Happy gaming!

Second Move-Further Clarifications Requested

Our group has been playing FoGN since it was published. Now and then some questions crop up and we discussed amongst ourselves then check with this forum. However, recently we find ourselves divided in the following question/situation regarding second move. We used one of the following Interpretatio...

Re: Field of Glory goes 2.0 !

Thank you for the update, JD. Much appreciated.

Would it be possible to release the 'paper' version at the same time as the virtual versions so that those who prefer the paper version wouldn't be left out?

Re: Assault: Line of Sight

OK. Thanks.

BTW, this is not explicitly stated in the rules. I got initially thought it had something to do with the LOS for Firing.

Re: Version 2 Poll (Version 2)

Well, the actual cost of FoGA V2.0 is actually a lot less than $1,000,000.00.
It might be around $454: iPad3 $399 + FoGA for iPad $25.00=$454

For UK players, its worse: iPad3 GBP399+FoGA for iPad GBP25=GBP424.

Re: Field of Glory goes 2.0 !

Look at the bright side of things: if FoG Ancients 2.0 is produced in non-printable digital format, all FoGA 1.0 rulebooks might be collectors items in, say, about 100 years time.

Which Austrian list allows 2 6pak Austrian cuirassiers with artillery attachments in the same division?

Re: Tablets for V2

With all these complaints this really seems to be a huge mistake. Maybe someone had it right when they said Slitherine wants the computer game to take over. Doesn't Ospery have a say in this anymore? In response to irondog068's question about Osprey, the following points are pure speculation, judgi...

Re: from FOW back to FOG

Well, Battlefront listened to their customers and did a partial U turn. Now, they only require 50% of the miniatures to be Battlefront miniatures.

As for FoG, maybe they will follow suit and only need 50% of the rulebook to be digital.

If I sound upset, I am. :/

Re: Field of Glory goes 2.0 !

Hey, how about this idea to achieve your digital dreams, Slitherine: Do not waste money bringing out FoG Ancients 2.0 in any form. Let FoG Ancients 1.0 die. Make only FoG Ancients Digital available. Increase the price or put a subscription - only scheme up. Organise online tourneys. This way, we don...

Re: Field of Glory goes 2.0 !

I own 3 iPads: 1 iPad1 and two iPad3s. I have some wargames rules on the iPad in pdf format. It's really a hassle virtually flipping the pages trying to look for certain rules. Even the iPad3 is slow. This deters from the enjoyment playing the game. Furthermore, my physical copies of FoG Ancients an...

Re: 800 or 1000

Viperofmilan: interesting points on scenarios. I think FoGN is suitable for both tournament-styles: confrontation (what we have now) and scenario-based (like FoW). Play-testing of different scenarios suitable for tourneys would be great fun and very necessary to produced balanced scenarios. Off the ...

Re: Firing : Target Priorities

I quite agree. I don't rememberthis never came up in Beta testing. In theory you can fire with reduced dice it only the centre of your unit can see the target. I will update the errata to add the following: > An enemy unit cannot be fired at unless the firing unit can draw a line to any part of the...

Assault: Line of Sight

To be able to assault, a unit must be able to 'see' the target of the assault from the starting position. (pg 28, first line) What are the rules for line of sight for Assault purposes? Is a unit able to see through another friendly unit in the open? Examples: 1. Can AAAA see through friendly line in...
