All Cav forces in the middle of your area can move farther and meet up with border foot armies to reinforce them. I also use a few to run up and down boarders to limit raiding.
I haven't played a knight army yet, took awhile to get my feet under me and then I have a long Gaul game going.

I was thinking this would help far flung areas. An encampment would take 10? turns to build and require at least one of all the resources. When built you would place the encampment on a province. It would be nice to have an option to send an agent to a realm to make a one time permanent adjustment to the base relations. Some percentage of success, no effect and detriment even.
Diplomatic relations are better now, at least from an orc and dwarven perspective.
