Re: allied corps
I've always thought of SE as Waffen-SS units. Kind of odd having them on the allied side.

Re: Prestige Soft Cap
Glad I found this thread. I like some of the changes introduced in v1.20 (class-specific exp effect, replacement came suppressed, etc) but dislike the soft cap and expensive overstrength. Now I can tweak the rule to suit my own style. Awesome!

Re: Playing the AI - battle proven tricks
Better to put Rudel in a fighter bomber so he can destroy air + ground targets with impunity. I currently have him in a ME 110 and he's far more powerful than the regular ME 109 fighter, capable of taking out most Soviet planes with one shot. Only problem is he can't escort other bombers or protect ...

Re: Tracking Unit Efficiency
Just finished GC 39 on a replay and the sig33 Sturmpanzer artillery is making the game. Got one to hero up with +1 range and it outranges the Turret Fortresses now... A range of 4 is overkill since fighting usually happen with 2-3 tiles of your artillery, except to suppress those AA guns ...

Re: Panzer Corps difficulty levels overview
What are the main differences between level 2 and level 1 AIs? Some differences are simple (like level 2 will try to protect VH with up to 7 units, while level 1 only up to 5), some are very complicated (e. g. level 2 attempts to detect good defensive places on the map and place units there, not ju...

Re: Really Liking the Gustav Rail Gun
Slith designed the gun as an epic weapon for special missions, but for inclusion in the core, whilst range 6 seems pretty accurate, 80 soft attack may be a little OP for a unit comprising a single gun that fired only 14 (admittedly massive) shells a day. Air defence of 20 is just totally ridiculous...

Re: SE infantry in 44?
Infantries aren't that necessary even in urban siege, if you know what you are doing. Having infantries would be nice in case of attacking cities or other infantries in close terrain, but not necessary, especially in late game, where Tiger IIs have awesome close defense and can knock out even entre...

Re: Damn it...where is my intel report
You cant look at it through modern eyes, you have to remember its the 1940s. So you shouldnt know everything and where it is. I think they are fine, I play it as if its 1940s and I wont get all the intel like you would in modern warfare. And not knowing is half the fun of playing. The intels give y...

Re: Damn it...where is my intel report
The thing that bothers me is not so much the lack of intel for new attacks but having enemy units appear amongst your own troops and get a first attack in when you have total control of the area (this happens in Wassigny a bit, but is even worse on one of the West 42/43 scenarios - Messina from mem...

Re: Damn it...where is my intel report
What irks me about the DLCs is the random appearance of enemy units, especially air units, without warning. It sucks to have huge swarm of enemy warplanes appearing out of nowhere, wrecking havoc on your core forces. Random appearance of land units can be a problem as well, but air units are of part...

Re: Which Game?
I personally will go for AK and skip the vanilla. I found the vanilla scenarios lacking content, it is probably not even as good as some user-made mods that you can get for free, the AK scenarios are more interesting than vanilla IMO. The DLCs are far better, I would recommend getting those DLCs, es...

Re: Some thoughts on replacements
I generally use elite replacement and always overstrength between scenarios. I try as much as I can to not use any replacement in a scenario. If I must, I generally use green if it doesn't hurt my unit too much. Elite replacement in scenario will cost a fortune.

Re: Long term suppression or not?
Thanks. I've always thought longterm suppression means lasting into the opponent's turn, because his turn and mine are considered parts of a single "turn". In fact, if I thought my units were vulnerable, I sometimes bombed the opponent's spearhead units with strat bombers to blunt his atta...

Long term suppression last through the enemys turn right? So if I end turn w an enemy unit w 2 suppressed, will he remain suppressed when he try to fight me?

SE infantry in 44?
I still have a SE infantry by 44 East. I am thinking about disbanding him, but feel kind of odd about disbanding an unit that's been with me since Poland.
Are SE infantry pretty much useless by this point? In some scenarios I don't even deploy infantry now.

Re: Panzer Corps Grand Finale: a DLC and an update!
I was going to point to civ4 as an example as well. I actually prefer making "dice chess" as an option rather than the default, as I originally suggested. More option is always good, the point is, you don't have to tinker with the options unless you want to, there is no point for noobs to ...

Re: Heroes and their influence
Would be nice to have an easier way of accessing hero info though. For example, I know one of my 5 BF 109s have +5 attack, I usually want him to take out the best enemy fighters. Would save me a lot of time if I can easily locate him. I personally rarely use the unit info window on the right hand si...
