I do appreciate the problem. The thing is that what temsd to happen is a few decent players find an army that suits them and that they know how to play. The army makes its way up to near the top of the rankings and then get noticed by lesser players who do badly with them and as a result the rankin...

A question, with respect to army ELO ratings does the system take into account the relative ratings of the players or does it assume that all players are equal to calculate the ELO of the armies? The army ranking is NOT taking any player's strength into account. To elaborate a bit, we did consider ...

Thank you for fixing that so quick. Can you fix Phil's German as well?
I'm afraid Phil is unfixable. ;)

One small error for correction please. When you select an army by record the heading for the ELO Graph is in German even when the user's language is English. The heading shows 'ELO-Historie für Later Horse Nomad' for example even though the top of the page reads 'Details for Army Later Horse Nomad'...

Nope sorry, depending on when and where you send them they might have gone into the great data nirvana during the move. If you send them before the move started... I've no inkling what might have happened. :(

The move and maintenance is completed and everything should run smoothly again. Please report if you still find errors or can't access the site.

@Pete: Yes we do plan to include FoG-R soon.

Possible outage

Just a short notice I will move the ranking site to a new server in the next couple of days as well as doing some other maintenance work. This might lead to the site being inaccessible or not looking or working properly. I will post a notice once everything is done.

Above from the ranking FAQ. Can someone calculate the ELO of the armies/ ave ELO of the players who used them? Then do a list for the those with at least 50 games. Would be pretty useful to me. E-mail me on sahwargames@aol.com perhaps. Tx Should be possible, give us a few days, weekend is already b...

No, German States should have a limited access to Hussars, but not to Szeklers.

Sorry about that, I actually started to do a Swedish Rebels list, but it seems all files that were written to since my SATA-controller went bad are irrevocably corrupted now. :( On topic: Kalmar Union... probably not needed as ally at least as far as land armies go. Navalwise it would be a different...

I might be wrong but I think the differences are minor enough. Some think the three Leagues armies didn't have the same quality as 'proper' Swiss (so might not justify Superior) but personally I don't subscribe to that view. The one thing that is probably missing are a few bases of armoured halberd...

Re: Tercios in Later Austrian and German states list

Should they be called Spanish tercios? Yes. Should they be added to list of exclusions for german states? Yes Should there be a cut-off date for them? I don't think so Spanish Infantry appear occasionally in Austrian Armies without a fixed end (well at least not until after the 30YW). They should g...

Hmm, maybe forgo naming them and just excluding Italian, Spanish or Burgundian Gendarmes might work then? Alternately one could call them Imperial, Feudal or Mercenary Gendarmes (although 'Feudal' is a rather medieval term it still aptly describes many of them) without the need to specify the 'natio...

No, it should only apply to the "Germans". In which case we need to call them German gendarmes, German men-at-arms etc. But presumably they were not all Germans, so what should we call them in each such list? Erh.. good question can't we get around that and maybe say that if any Gendarmes...

Unless you plan to make those changes to the Early Imperial Spanish as well I think it should not apply to the Danish either. Feel free to add the option to the Austrian lists though.

Enought to have contracted something else. :(

I will look into the problem, no idea where it comes from though. The routine should only take into account armies with more then 0 games, hmmm.

Re: Reiters in Later Imperial Austrian list - Karsten

Reiters probably started to switch around the mid to later 1580's in Austria spreading North over the next 30 years or so.
