Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.5
 How? Why? In attack, or in defense? Like, with AT guns, before attacking "soften" the target enough with guns, naval guns, level bombers, so it cannot fight back. In defense, stationate enough guns behind it - althrough I would not use it, as dedicated AT defender, only in cases, ...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.5
Yes, it would seriously affect the game, the 88 is already a very good unit, slightly over powered IMO in 1939-42, especially in North Africa. Thus I would not make it even better, but, if you want to, you can edit it and see how it changes the balance. It is not too hard to edit units in this game...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.5
Just finished my second playthrough with a (minor) victory so here's a brief AAR: After defeating the Soviet Union in my first game, I wanted to defeat the Allies this time. My general plan was to combine a slow but steady advance in the east with the defeat of Great Britain. 1941 was thus spent adv...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.5
I am on my second playthrough (technically on the fourth, but I restarted twice around turn 30). I would like to share some suggestions I think would improve the game: 1. Partisans should spawn in weaker numbers (5 or 7-strength) earlier in the war and in territories that didn't see a large scale re...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.5
After a three-week pause I just finished playing the 1.4 version of the mod. I won by defeating the Soviet Union by late 1943. I didn't really feel like major offensives anymore so I spent the rest of the game holding the line, only advancing to the Suez Canal with a small force. I managed to achiev...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.3
The mod is running fine now. It is still sluggish at times but seems to get better as I play it. It does stop my wireless mouse from working though. I'm now on turn 43 (March 43) trying to stop the Soviet counterattack at Kursk. Moscow and Leningrad fell in July and December 42 respectively, and my ...

Re: Panzer Corp Difficulty
If one plays with the Steam achievement in mind (I for one can't help myself, being a fresh wargamer), one can always use the initial German core forces. These will nicely fulfill roles that are missing from the Italian rooster - pioneers, fallschirmjaeger, heavy tanks, StugIV as the ultimate artill...

Re: Panzer Corp Difficulty
I'm also considering replaying AK with only Italian units. Any tips on which units to rely on? I assume I would need to have an air-heavy core as Italian air units are quite good. They do get some German units at some point right? I remember upgrading my P40 to a Panther somewhere past Palestine, an...

Re: which infantry do you prefer (pre-1943)
When playing offensive-oriented campaigns (vanilla, AK, DLC up to '42) I use regular infantry and gebirgsjaeger due to their mobility. My core tends to be heavy on artillery so I don't find much use for pioneers except for particular scenarios - for these I usually convert an existing infantry unit....

Re: Steam Achievements
Unfortunately, adding old saved games into the folder only resulted in my computer freezing when I launched the game, making me reinstall the game.

Re: Steam Achievements
I will try that out and report if I succeed. I just have to find the Steam folder in which to import old saved games. Sea Lion '45 should be a blast to play again.

Re: Most hated scenarios
Vyazma in '41 is very frustrating due to all the mud.
Moscow '41 in case your advance and air force gets stuck in 3+ turns of rain.

Re: Steam Achievements
Is there any way to get Steam achievements for past victories?
I have completed all campaigns except AC and still have savegames from the beginning of every scenario I played.
