Having never played SC2 I cannot offer an honest comparison. I am certain it is great game. It looks good, anyway. What I like about CEaW is the fast, easy gameplay. The systems are not hard to learn and the nuances within those systems have a simple elegance that lends to the nostalgia of days gone...

Medium supply sources, which is all that are available in North Africa and the Middle East, have a supply range of 20 hexes. So if your units move beyond this range, they are immediately out of supply, unless on a coastal hex with a surface naval unit adjacent, or by a surface naval unit with an unb...

A few thoughts from an admittedly inexperienced and undereducated Commander. It seems to me that the whole issue with the Allied defense of Egypt and the Middle East is one of supply - specifically sea supply and its lack of representation in the game. Historically, the biggest contributor to the Ax...

Thanks for the feedback, Possum. Glad you enjoyed the read! Great advice, Stauffenberg! Lotta good stuff there. Thanks! Given that this was my first try at the game I thought things went well. I probably should not have conceded so quickly at the Fall of Moscow, but the hour was late, my eyes and lo...

DEFEAT! My First AAR
Well...it wasnt a total defeat...but Moscow was poised to fall in June 1942 so I thought it best to concede. I dont know if this would have been fatal or not, especially since the Western Allies were gearing up steadily to open the Second Front. What I do know is that such loss would have been a maj...

Thank you Stauffenberg. Very good. The info screen at the start of your turn also tells you when you have achieved an upgrade, as well as what the upgrade is. I find just making a note is simpler than digging around the Labs. I totally agree that it would be nice to just skip the Blitzkrieg upgrade ...

Unit Levels and Upgrades
This is confusing me....when I click the Upgrade button I see my units at various levels. Corps are 3/3 for example. What does this mean? Also, when Upgrades are available I have no way of knowing what they are. So when my Corps shows 3/4, which upgrade are they missing? Viewing the Labs doesnt seem...

Hmmmm....I am wondering if weather is really even necessary outside the one weather event already in play? I mean, this is a strategic game first, and did weather really have any strategic impact on the war? I know some would argue that several campaigns were delayed or rescheduled due to local weat...
