Re: DeGaulle
I wasn't a fan of him constantly returning either. I think it would be better if he would appear, and once he is down to a specific health he retreats from the scenario so that he can re-appear later on. Provided you don't encircle and destroy him, in which case he shouldn't re-appear. In general, I...

Re: Why do you still stick with the OG Panzer Corps?
I don't understand why this isn't possible/wasn't possible... the developers did stress tests on huge maps early on... what happened to this idea on the way... I think the BE mod (as well as many others) helped keep PzC alive for Slitherine for quite a while IMHO  Thanks to all modders and...

Re: Why do you still stick with the OG Panzer Corps?
Who says that you have to stick to one of the two? You can just as easily play both ;) PC obviously has the advantage of having far more material available right now. And it allows for much larger maps; the amazing Battlefield: Europe mod wouldn't be possible in PC2. At least not in remotely the sam...

Re: Proposal: New Supply system
I think that would be way too much hassle for very little gain. How close do the supply-vehicles need to be to a unit to supply it? Because if they actually need to be right next to a unit to supply it, you would need a ton of supply-vehicles to re-supply all units. That, in turn, would clogg the ma...

Re: Bug Reports
I've had a slight issue with the graphical appearance of traits on a unit. Sadly I don't have access to my game where I am right now, so I can't post any screenshots for the time being. Here's the situation: Axis Operations 1940 The unit was a Panzer II C, I think. I had assigned Kerscher as a hero,...

Re: AT support bug?
Seems pretty straight forward to me. A 15cm gun will support another 15cm gun against a hard-attack, because neither is an anti-tank weapon. An anti-tank weapon won't get any support against a hard-attack, because it already is the special unit against such an attack. Though I'm not sure if I haven'...

Re: Bersaglieri - a weird unit
It would be a bit weird if they weren't worse than Alpini in mountainous terrain. Alpini were the elite of the elite, and Italy always made sure that they were well-equiped. Italy had other mountain troops as well though. A slight movement boost for Bersaglieri would make sense though. Just like Jap...

Re: Off Topic: German strategic aims in 1941
The strategy of where to concentrate their attack is irrelevant. They were destined to lose either way. While earning my degree in history, one of the courses that I took was The History of the Soviet Union. I learned how even high ranking Soviet officials admitted after the war that Hitler's genoc...

Re: RANGE OF LARGER A/T GUNS COMPARE TO SMALL A/T GUNS
There is never a good way to get all units and their ranges right, so some level of compromise has to be reached. In this case it is AT-guns having their range represented through things like initiative, as mentioned above. Otherwise you quickly run into issues. E.g. the heaviest AT-guns may have fi...

Re: Bf109z and He111z Implementation
Some time ago I had suggested using commendation points (it might even have been prestige, if it was before the CPs were introduced) to be able upgrade prototypes into a full production model. Say you have a Sturer Emil or Dicker Max and want to have it as a proper unit, because you have little else...

Re: Bug Reports
No technically a bug, but would it be possible to add something to the name of a save beyond scenario and current round? In PC1 you could play through campaigns or any scenario multiple times and not run into any trouble with the game asking you if you wanted to overwrite an earlier file that happen...

Re: Hero abilities tier list
Information only takes you so far. Rommel succeeded because he was a daring commander, to the point were he was overly aggressive in his actions. This was already the case in WW1, and not different in the early goings of WW2. He fully understand how surprise and psychological effects could make an e...

Re: Hero abilities tier list
I found Oleh Dir on a Grenadier paired with the Hit and Run hero to be a pretty nice combination. The Grenadier-unit already has the highest initiative among infantry units (at least early on, haven't checked all the stats), Oleh Dir adds further initiative, putting the unit ahead of any infantry yo...

Re: Commendation Points (CP)
BTW - this highlights what I see as one of the few FUNDAMENTAL problems with PC2. I don't see any point (other than flavor) to captured equipment. Experience (and the new medals) are simply too valuable to be bothered with a unit that you won't be able to keep repaired. IRL, captured equipment was ...

Re: Kommandant K
I think the consensus is somewhat wrong about that stuff though. I used to think they were really good, then I looked past armor and gun. Those tanks looked good on paper, but sadly paper doesn't fight, tank-crews in their tanks do. The reasons the Germans succeeded even with tanks that were weaker ...

Re: AO 1939 scn tree is a disaster
No, but i do think that it shows that in magnitude, the Saar offensive was just a sideshow compared to the fighting in Poland. I think Kondi's point is, he wants to play the big battles. He wants to fight where the biggest action is. Breaking through Polish lines, fighting tooth and nail to get thr...

Re: Losing the entire game due to missing by one or two turns is garbage.
My 2 pfennigs on this: using "defeat the enemy in X turns" as the measure of victory always struck me as lazy game-design. It makes it, rather than being a game in which winning means defeating the enemy , a game where enemy units are just so many speed-bumps or hurdles that you have to clear quick...

Re: Panzer Corps 2: Axis Operations - 1939 || Dev Diary # 1
ok I know i'm paranoid, but even in the editor there is no finnish infantry unit ... I hope it is added with the 1939 dlc. One or more scenarios of the winter war only with german units would be unacceptable! Well of course the editor doesn't have those units, it uses the same files as the game aft...

We all appreciate your work. Seriously though, nobody who plays WWII games wants to fight in spain. Maybe one scenario like Panzer General 2 type thing but not a campaign. Who wants to fight with crap geared spanish nationalists. As far as the next release, never was a shot fired when the germans w...

Re: Should Panthers be cheaper?
However, both of these tanks were extremely failure-prone, which should also be taken into account when setting their ratios compared to other tanks I think that is a bit too harsh. Neither were particularly failure-prone when running normally. They had their issues early on, which is completely no...
