My wife and a long time opponent/friend and his wife are playing with the idea of attending 2011's Historicon. There is plenty to do in the area AND the convention too. Gotta try to get there.

Not too likely I will have a 15mm army to push....BUT, my buddie and I can kibitz.

Re: Colonial Portuguese – who made this list???

Soooo Just how balanced would a Conquistadors army be IF it were made as a "what if" army for a "what if" battle against a European foe? THAT is what my old fart opponents and I are thinking about doing. This is more or less what happens to the Spanish Conquistadors in Cities of ...

I am an old fart who is set in his ways. I use Testors and Model Masters flats/matt finsh. When I do armour and many weapon's metal surfaces, I use thinned down black to create a wash. I do not prime what is to be black washed. Metal minies DO take to it better than grey plastic does. I like the way...

Good luck with the sand dune(?) battle(s). I have some Arabs, foot and mounted. Sadly they would "need" to hire shooters who require black powder. My reading is slowed down due to post Christmas honey do this requirments. Still, no major "don't understand what they means" in the ...

As of today...USA airports that receive international flights (as from the UK) have been and are closed due to snow. THAT means my Warlord Games goodies are delayed after getting into the air. Hey, they were turned over to the Ryal Post in a timely manner....THEN THE BLIZZARDS came....to the UK. AND...

Can warriors be support troops? OR develope slower moving tactics. I think I will be staying away from using "warriors".

When faced with a choice like armoured or unarmoured.....I bought both, mixed them up and painted them mixed up. Then I could use them as either, by putting whichever in the first row(s) as called for. We are using movement trays with labels, attached to the backs of the movement trays.

I do hope your copy came today.

They have been doing great for 3-4 years now for my group and I. IMHO, it sounds like demand has/is outpacing supply and or the planned for supply was too small to begin with. We use Amazon, USA over here.

Usually, I place my camps at the edge of the board close to terrain that helps to protect the camps. Usually, my regular opponents and I ignore each others camps as far as"heading" to the enemy camp as a goal. If/when we stumble up to it when pursueing a unit or whatever...THEN...we will s...

Very nice looking minies. I have been wondering about South American (and Central) gaming. The minies here really do look good. IMHO, an excellent example of just how well the minies look when painted up. Welcome aboard. Hope you enjoy the site...AND post more photos of your minies from time to time..

For 28mm, I would mix the equipment of the troops in the units. I doubt everybody in a unit would be "uniform" wearing/with captured equipment and weapons. Over time IMHO, those troops acquired the equipment, the booty from enemy dead and captured stock piles of supplies and equipment. I a...

We discovered the problems with cramming minies into less than is needed space. WE voted before we started to not rebase hundreds of foot and cav. They are still based on 20mm square bases. When playing FoG we always have used heavies 3 minies per 60mm long base. Our heavies do look like heavies. We...

I have about 300-400 hundred Saxon/Gaul/Celt/Germans/with a few lightweight Normans tossed in the mix. Those foot, mostly have shields and spears. About half of them have helmets. About two thirds of the ones with helmets have chainmail....A few warriors have swords/axes/hand weapons. Most of my Rom...
