Re: dkalenda has been expelled from the tournament for multiple re-loading of turns during his matches . . .

As far as I am aware, 'zero tolerance' has never worked in any context, despite its popularity with some sections of society. In this context is would be destructive. In Multiplayer games zero tolerance to cheating is the only way to go. The history of gaming scene is littered with good MP games wh...

Re: dkalenda has been expelled from the tournament for multiple re-loading of turns during his matches . . .

I suspect that the technical difficulty of changing over the PBEM system to save every move as they happen, rather than every turn, would probably involve a greater development cost than Slitherine is willing to invest in. It's I think a 3 year old game, by a relatively small publisher, in a pretty...

Really well done my friend.

A formidable opponent and a thoroughly nice chap too :-)

Re: dkalenda has been expelled from the tournament for multiple re-loading of turns during his matches . . .

I don't agree the players can monitor the reload result properly. One single reload, you are suspected as cheater, regardless what reason you give, because your opponent just regard such excuse as lie, putting a cheater hat on you, creating a thread to condemn you. This will be the outcome of the s...

How about making it so a dodgy player's soldiers start dying as they are doing their re-loaded turn? They start by clutching their stomachs and groaning and then they all drop dead. It would be a fitting end, I feel.

Re: Larger armies right across the FOG2 Digital League?

To be honest I think someone who prefers playing large battles is more likely to acquiesce with being required to play mid size rather than vice versa. Setting large as the default would probably cause some player attrition while medium would not. Also for players that perceive the size of the batt...

Re: Larger armies right across the FOG2 Digital League?

I, for one, would definitely not play in divisions with 1600 pt defaults. Whereas I intend to take the opposite approach. I have already decided to only enter the 1600 pts default Divisions next season having seen how this season has gone despite them not being my preferred eras. Horses for courses...

Re: dkalenda has been expelled from the tournament for multiple re-loading of turns during his matches . . .

Does make me laugh when I look back and read all the entries in the RNG debate that raged, insisting that Dkalenda won so many games because he was the best player, and the RNG had nothing to do with it That looks very funny now. But then again could perhaps explain why some people saw so many biza...

That is one of the most shocking things I have read on this forum.

Words cannot express how pathetic such behaviour is.

Well done Pete for your actions which have my unqualified support.

Re: Any questions . . .

Hi this is not a question but a request. When the tables are posted would it be possible to see who you have played and not played displayed? I understand it might be a lot of work so no problem. It would just help to see who you still had to play as I lose track sometimes of who to challenge. and ...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion, questions and some highbrow philosophising)

I realise I'm pretty new to this so please ignore me if you feel it appropriate but I have a couple of observations... a) if someone is 'camping' can't you take an army that works against an 'encamped' army? Eg: one that has lots of shooting that can just whittle them down or one with quality mediu...

Seeing as you are attacking "my charatcer" Mike, please tell us all here with your self-proclaimed, profound wisdom what you would have done in my situation? If I had been in desertedfox's shoes, I would have made the same choice. He was facing a slightly better player who had a much better army in...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion, questions and some highbrow philosophising)

One of the ideas that myself and Schweetness101 have provisionally introduced into the Alternative Gameplay Mod is that any unit being required to take a cohesion test in the last four rows nearest to the army's baseline would suffer a -1 CT penalty. The rationale for this is that soldiers are less...

Re: I dont like ai allies...

Spain is a bit different from Stalingrad or the Afrika Korps, in that the Condor Legion was supporting Franco's men. It doesn't really make sense to command them. By contrast, Rommel was in command of the Italians in the desert. I'm not sure about Von Paullus, but presumably he commanded the army i...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion, questions and some highbrow philosophising)

All my 36 matches of the season are over. The emptiness of waiting for next season is here again :( Maybe I should try to set up a 6-nation, I mean, 6-player tournament with extra large maps and extra large armies, each player choosing one army for the whole tournament, all matches as mirrored ones...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion, questions and some highbrow philosophising)

My sentiments there. It should be discouraged however. It can ruin anyones win streak if your opponent chooses to do so. My opponent only had the pure horse army against me and not against the rest of the division. Which era, division, and which army lists are you referring to? Isn't that merely hi...

Re: Any questions . . .

Should there be a rule against pure horse armies in the tournament?`SInce one side has to win decisively and not just by percentages, playing against a 100 percent horse army is meaningless as they have to run around in circles to get on their opponents flank. Anyone playing against them will avoid...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion, questions and some highbrow philosophising)

The key point as I see it is whether the games that elrawen didn't play are voided or not... logically, you would think that it would either go one way or another - all his games are voided whether played or not or all the players in the division get the automatic 4 points whether played or not. Ob...
