Pocus - Medieval Empires?!?
Hi folks,
Any idea if there are still plans to produce a version of FoG Empires for the Medieval era?
I think this was discussed a while ago...?
Thanks,
Jay

Leaked or convergence of crumbs?

Re: Pocus - Medieval Empires?!?
The subject of the next game has not been disclosed, as Pocus wrote.
However, Field of Glory 2, Medieval has been published, and would provide a means to fight tactical battles in a Medieval empires game, just as Field of Glory 2 provided this option for Field of Glory 2 Empires.
For this reason, a number of posters have speculated that the next empires game will be on the Medieval world.
It seems like a reasonable guess to me, and I would love to see it.
But only Pocus and some people at Slitherine know the subject of the game.
Re: Pocus - Medieval Empires?!?
I tried using a captured Palantir to find out, but all I got was a big Red Eye - problably Pocus's - staring out at me, then an old geezer with a white beard hit me over the head with his ruler...vaalen wrote: ↑Mon Nov 08, 2021 5:58 pmThe subject of the next game has not been disclosed, as Pocus wrote.

I doubt that the big red eye was that of Pocus. But I believe there is one.
The white bearded chap with the ruler may be the fellow with the ruler might be the secrecy enforcement gremlin. .

Well it restricts the starting year of the game to anywhere between 3700 BCE and 1700 CE. Can we narrow it down to less than 5 millennia? Will there still be chariots?

If it's crumbs then I hope they are graham cracker crumbs surrounding a delicious cheesecake to enjoy
while reading your announcement of the new game.
Arrows... What kind of arrowheads so we can narrow it down?
(I'll wager Pocus says, "Pointy ones." )
Re: Pocus - Medieval Empires?!?
The safe bet is the next game will move in chronological progression. But the mind boggles on how this will be modeled. Rome was being divided and sub-divided during the Crisis of the Third Century. You could try starting things off with Constantine the Great, the first Emperor to adopt Christianity, who divided the Empire into West and East I believe. Starting during Dark Ages will be tough since things were so in flux. Next best option would be to start things off around 11th century AD.
Either way, I hope release of the next game means an update to the original FOG:E, to incorporate any new features or changes in game mechanics. One of the good things about building a new game off a previous one is experience from player feedback on what needs improving.

Re: Pocus - Medieval Empires?!?
Hey Pocus nice crumb trail, so subject is secret but what about likely arrival date? Or even hint at season?
Re: Pocus - Medieval Empires?!?
:Yes, Pocus, can you possibly give us some information about the arrival date, or season, or is that also a secret from your fans? And everyone else.

Four new projects will be announced tomorrow during the Home of Wargamers Live on Twitch. My guess is Medieval Empires or whatever it's gonna be called (maybe Kingdoms?) will be one of them. The new Medieval DLC will also be announced.
Mord.

Ah, thank you, Mord. You made my day!
