Cant embar paratroopers to airplane
I have 5x airtransports left and have my paratrooper literally sitting in airfield. Why i cant embark it back to air? Does he need big airport, one that can only hold strategic bombers? Im on dirst field(small airfield). Thats the problem or is there some kidna of a bug in this scenario? If its about airfield size, damn been playing this game 400hours and and still not learned that

Re: Cant embar paratroopers to airplane
There is a limited number of times you can have a paratrooper embark/disembark as well as move per turn. Same is true with naval transports. For example, you cannot have a Fallschirmjäger unit parachute down into a hex, airfield or not, and then immediately reembark back into the same transport in the same turn. They can move, get on/off of a transport only once per turn. So, if you moved it onto a airfield and then got on a transport, you can't disembark somewhere else on the same turn. If it just landed on the airfield, same thing. You'd need to wait until your next turn to go airborne once again. Type of airfield doesn't matter.Illynore wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 2:07 pm I have 5x airtransports left and have my paratrooper literally sitting in airfield. Why i cant embark it back to air? It sounds like that might be what's going on, but I'd need more information to know for sure.

But that paratrooper has been at ground for several turns and it literally sat in airfield for turn or 2, so i got baffled like what is this oO

Re: Cant embar paratroopers to airplane
Yeah, I see that. In that scenario I have had my Fallschirmjäger unit fly out of that airfield before. Could you send the save file? Or maybe the one the turn before it? I'll try it myself to see what's happening.Illynore wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 7:57 pm But that paratrooper has been at ground for several turns and it literally sat in airfield for turn or 2, so i got baffled like what is this oO

Re: Cant embar paratroopers to airplane
Eben Emael, that explains it. The transport pool in this scenario is DFS 230, which can only be embarked from Airfields. Only the normal Ju 52 can be embarked from a Dirt Airfield.
Re: Cant embar paratroopers to airplane
Ah, I could have sworn that I have embarked from that airfield before...anyway, if you can't hold it early in the scenario, you are probably doomed to fail that map. So, it is imperative that one holds out against the AI counterattacking units that come from the west so you maintain the encirclement of the fortress complex.
Re: Cant embar paratroopers to airplane
Oh so later on in game i can also use dirt airfileds to get paratroopers back in air? Thanks for your answear, this clarifiesVirgilInTheSKY wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 6:27 am Eben Emael, that explains it.
