Rise and Fall of the Shun Dynasty Campaign
Re: Rise and Fall of the Shun Dynasty Campaign
My invading Ming have defeated Changdao's Qing in Shaanxi province, 72-54.
At first I had hoped that my fine opponent would attack my positions, enabling me to shoot him to bits with the massed Ming artillery. He wisely did not do this, apart from some Light horse skirmishing.
As I was the invader, I felt obliged to advance so we charged right across the board hoping that our shooting would be enough. It was... just about. Changdao used his cavalry very skilfully and the result was in doubt right until the last turn. An exciting and bloody game.

I'm sure the emperor will be generous in his praise of the Minister for war with additional titles and lands for his most trusted, loyal general. Although, one wonders that with his increased success and status, thoughts of establishing himself as a contender leading a Manchu force may have already crossed his mind?

Re: Rise and Fall of the Shun Dynasty Campaign
All the Ming now know why you are my Minister for War, Ghengzong the Qing Breaker !!!!
The last charge of your brave Ming must have done tremendous damage to break the Qing inflicting 72 % on their army !
My Emperor's Guard will escort you to Beijing for the Celebrations and bestowing of Honours upon you

Also the Emperor will assign you more troops and make some suggestions as to your next conquest.
Re: Rise and Fall of the Shun Dynasty Campaign
The traitorous Geng Zhongming has abandoned his Manchu horde (as all of his provinces have been overrun) and has retired to a neighbouring country. He has appointed Kong Youde/Peter as his commander in his absence until his return in early August.
Spies report that the Ming can expect a revived attack, not only from Kong Youde's provinces but, from across a neighbouring border. So. the Ming should be prepared.
Also, the Ming Minister for Ordnance, Run Ling Lou, reports that Ordnance is in very high demand and may not always be maximised in future battles.

Okie The challenge that I set up for you as you were having problems ( my invasion of Shanghai ) has been sitting in the Challenges Section of Sengoku Jidai for 4 days. You only have 3 days before it surrenders to the Ming.
Re: Rise and Fall of the Shun Dynasty Campaign
My agents also report that there are serious shortages of superior horses for the Qing. They are having to revert to peasant foot soldiers, so great are their losses!

An army leaves from the Qiongzhou region, its mission is to recover Zhejian from the Ming army...
Re: Rise and Fall of the Shun Dynasty Campaign
Unfortunately, fybyyn this does not share a border. So, the challenge is disallowed.

Welcome back Peter (remember you can also challenge from the borders on behalf of Changdao)PeterThePainter wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 4:33 pm Challenge for ahuyton:

Re: Rise and Fall of the Shun Dynasty Campaign
I must admit I am a bit hazy as to how that would work. Can I attack into China from any neighbouring area? what troops do I use? The Qing Bannermen or the troops of the area I am attacking from? This is all new territory (pun, sort of intended).GDod wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 9:29 pmWelcome back Peter (remember you can also challenge from the borders on behalf of Changdao)PeterThePainter wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 4:33 pm Challenge for ahuyton:

Gavin I have set up Fybyyn's challenge for him, he can and has challenged Jiangxi Province from Qiongzhou Province.GDod wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2024 10:38 pmUnfortunately, fybyyn this does not share a border. So, the challenge is disallowed.Even worse, your remaining province does not share a border with any other Ming held province, apart from Taiwan. Hence, your only challenge can be for Taiwan. Would you like to issue a challenge for this province?
Re: Rise and Fall of the Shun Dynasty Campaign
True, sorry for the error, well the province of Jiangxi seems fine to me!Unfortunately, this province does not share a border, so the challenge is not accepted.Worse, your remaining province does not share a border with any other Ming-held province aside from Taiwan. Therefore, your only challenge may be Taiwan. Would you like to issue a challenge to this province?

While Canton still belongs to smjohn077, Canton has declared itself a free city and anyone bordering it may travel through it to challenge neighbouring provinces unimpeded.
