Division 3
Chris Townsend's Egyptians 945 defeat indibil's Philistines with Egyptian allies 63 to 54.
On one of those battlefields that looks open, but really has quite a bit of terrain, the Egyptians split their infantry between two field systems, with a column of chariots and cavalry in the middle, and light chariot screens on each flank. The light chariots got to a small hill in the centre first, but were quickly pushed off by a strong infantry force (mostly Gibborim and foot guards), but not before Egyptian light archers seized a nearby rough, a position they held for the rest of the battle. The chariot charge did also allow the early cavalry to advance through the infantry and massed archer checkerboard. Together with the unopposed right flank light chariots, this eventually proved devastating to the Philistine left. Meanwhile their heavy chariots, eventually supported by the heavy infantry, fought their way through the obstacles defended by the Egyptian guard, supported by Libyans. Needless to say, the Philistine heavy troops did eventually prevail, but not before taking some casualties, partly because of continuing volleys from light archers and chariots that were difficult to pin down. In the end, both left flanks were essentially destroyed, and it was the ability of the Egyptian right to reorganize and make a final impact that carried the day in this close fought battle.
A GG, well played.

DIVISION C
Vakarr (Thracian Roman client with Roman allies) defeats Asterix_von_TWC (Franks) 48-10
The terrain featured a non-disordering stream across the battlefield with a valley on my left flank and a wood on my right flank. On the opposite side of the stream, on top of the hills, there was a deep wood separated by a gully. The high ground in front of the Franks' left flank was open, but their left flank featured more woods and rough ground on the top of their hills. Fortunately for me, the Franks didn't reject the terrain. However, on the first turn, the Franks hid their units in the woods on their side, and I couldn't see any enemies at all!!! Considering that the Franks had no medium infantry, and most of their army was totally unsuited to difficult terrain, that was surprising.
I formed up on my side of the valley and filled the gap between my hill and the woods with heavy infantry. For the first time, I only took one light horse unit, and fielded every heavy infantry unit possible, even the raw legionaries. I waited for the Franks to show themselves, then sent forth my light infantry. The Frankish light infantry came out, and actually outnumbered me as well as being higher than me, and got the best of the initial engagements, but as I retreated I saw that only a few of the Frankish heavy infantry were facing me on my left flank. The rest of the Frankish army was still hiding in the woods, but when they came out, it became apparent that the Frankish left flank was very weak, so I advanced onto their hill and took it in flank. The Frankish cavalry managed to run all the way around the wood guarding my right flank, but I was able to stop them from getting into my rear long enough for that not to matter. The Frankish heavy infantry took a long time to get from their woods at the back of their line to my line of heavy infantry. By the time they did so, I had wiped out the entire Frankish right flank. In the clash of the heavy infantry, the Franks didn't do very well, but did break through my line. Before they could exploit that breakthrough (and the Frankish cavalry could hit me from the rear) , the troops that had defeated the Frankish right flank had arrived, and my only warband unit did another spectacular pursuit, smashing three units in a row in the flank and routing two of them, game over. Lucky for me the Franks chose to defend the right side of their battlefield, if they had only deployed on their left I would have had to attack the warbands uphill in open terrain. For me, the outcome was always in doubt as he had so many more cavalry and my medium foot are likely to lose badly if they charge heavy foot warbands frontally.

Division 2
principesromanes (Sicilian 1194-1199 AD) defeats ulysisgrunt (Low Countries 1275-1319 AD) 43-9
The Sicilian army brought a large contingent of bowmen and a few crossbowmen to occupy a large hill on their left side of the battlefield. The Low Country army in contrast consisted almost entirely of knights and low country spearmen. The Sicilian army quickly assumed complete control over the hill, and then positioned the remained of the army on a narrow battlefield between the hill and a forest in the rear. While the bows and crossbows only inflicted moderate damage, they did perhaps incite the spearmen into some intemperous charges, attempting to engage the Sicilian knights to escape the swarm of arrows. Ultimately, the Low Country army wasn't able to break through and was badly affected as a few units spread significant panic in the ranks as they broke and fled.
Thanks for the game!

Rockmanbob123 Samaritans defeated Antivirts Carthaginians 41-14
The heavier Samaritan horse moved quickly and enfiladed the left of the carthagenians horse. The Punic ponies put up a good fight but were overcome by sheer weight of numbers. The Carthage infanty marching left were then caught in a pincer by the quicker Samartian horse and the line was rolled up.

Rockmanbob123 Samaritans defeated SawyerK Parthians 63-50
The heavier Samaritan horse waited behind a hill until the light Parthian horse was within misslle range of their small infantry line. Bursting out from behind the hill and adjacent forest the heavier Samaritan cavalry sliced through the light Parthian ponies and almost routed the entire Parthian host. A last minute rally saved the Parthians from a 40-15 defeat. Then the Parthian cataphracts then fell upon the disorganized Samaritans. In a one sided battle of attrition from there, the Parthians were able to make a respectable showing and left a great many of the steppe ponies lying in the dust

Plentiful camels and cavalry were able to overwhelm their higher quality Persian counterparts, while Blemmye infantry for once was able to slug it out with their foot adversaries without giving way.

SawyerK with the Parthian 250 BC army and Seleucid ally
defeated
Indibil and his Samnite 355 BC army plus Gallic ally
by 42 to 16.
This featured a long, brutal cavalry battle on the Parthians right flank where the Parthian cataphracts proved decisive. It was only after that was complete that the heavy foot on both sides engaged and once again the cataphracts helped bring home the win. I was fortunate to get to 40 before nightfall in this one.

rexhurley (Skythian) defeats Andersarcos (Syracruse) 60/59 on the very last 0 turn with the very last fragged LC cav unit doing enough to survive and then inflict a couple of casualties against a MC unit at 50% which finally (after a run of horror morale rolls for me) broke for the houdini win.
insane game early to mid running for me then chasing me across the whole map with my remnants battling away to not get pushed off the map in the lower left corner Ander almost pulled off a heroic win.
And I think that's about it for me in classical this season. Thank you to all my opponents and good fortune for you in the future without me. I say farewell to you all.
Could we have Divsion B table update please Kroche?
