A great game to finish on. Very similar armies made for a close match up. I nearly won it in the early stages with enough victories from the light battles and victories in the central rough ground with infantry and some lively work by my knights on the right flank. The Berbers then made a fabulous flanking charge that wiped out 4 units in one turn. All bets were off as my knights were charging in all directions without any control. Some luck on pursuit charges meant that I eventually clawed my way back to a victory, but it was a very close run thing. The Berbers made excellent use of their camels and some great tactical work with their infantry and cav combining to make life very difficult. Luckily for me the Castillian knights eventually returned to the fray and won it for me in the end. See you all in the next season.

Division B aka Division 2

Chris Townsend's English 1155 defeated IMC's German (imperial) 1155 w/Free Canton 60 to 55.

This was mostly flat terrain, except for a opposing hills on the English right that actually switched sides during the battle To the right of those hills, the English knights quickly bested their opposing numbers - and then spent a big piece of time pursuing! Meanwhile, the German dismounted knights made mince meat to the English Infantry, and the Free Canton spearmen, with crossbow support, cleverly maneuvered to contain the remaining mounted knights. Somehow, the English knights returned to the German side of the two hills, which, together with some excellent rallying by English leaders, meant that the German infantry was assailed from two sides, before the Free Canton spearmen could complete their support march.

Both sides were very fragile at the end, and it could easily have gone either way! Good game!

He won the cavalry fight, the balts took his infantry and by the time is cavalry came back it was too late, a disputed and very interesting battle.
