Division A

markleslie Danish 1200-1319 AD with Baltic Tribes 1050-1283 AD allies defeats Bagatrix1805 Crusader 1155-1291 AD 40-9.

Turn 2 from the Danish POV.


The Crusaders chose the bloody big hammer from their box of tools and immediately wheeled and began advancing down the plain on the Danish left. In response I sent my true krossmenn forward, the heavies angling to hold the crest in case the enemy should try it and our Baltic foot made directly for the wood in search of the missing compulsory foot.

The Danes steadily marched forward, forward. The Crusader Turcopoles on the plain briefly attempted to obstruct our advance at the crest line but thought better of it after receiving a few volleys while the Crusader Knights milled about suffering some discomfort from skirmishers.

The last push.


Our Baltic allies finally reached the wood and found it full of crossbowmen and Maronites, who were quickly dispersed, while the remainder of the armies converged for the final scrum.

14 games still to complete - some players have only finished 3 - appreciate all other games may be nearly finished but please make sure they do as we don't want unfinished matches wherever possible. Still looking good for the Captain, random27 and markleslie are keeping themselves in it.

Excellent momentum from Div B players with only 2 games remaining, depending on results IMC can leapfrog the congested middle order. EdmondDantes showing good form to move up the table with 1 match still to go.

Turn 11: a protracted period of marching and the swatting of flies.


My Danes refused to approach the woods so there was little to do but stare, twiddle my thumbs and see if I could reach the other end of the board. My opponent however had other ideas and decided to throw caution to the wind and advanced out on to the plain to try his impact luck. Having already given up on getting a result I offered the Balts a draw, he declined and boldly pressed on.

Turn 19: the end.


The Danish Balts got the worst of it, not doing very well at all and may have to reconsider their career choices. Fortunately the Danish spearmen, generally, got the better of the enemy with some slight help from the knights who seemed to spend most of their time pursuing rather than fighting.

If you find yourself alone, riding in the green fields with the sun on your face, do not be troubled.

The Lithuanian set up defensively between a forest and some rough ground. We advanced slowly, attempting to surround them.

The key here was delivering Dailami and Elephants without losing morale. My cavalry left flank was broken easily,.

Last game for the Lithuanians who could not buy a win in this championship !
Both sides set up between woods and then opted not to advance. That becoming clear, the Lithuanians decided to chance their arm (rightly fearful of superior knights) and advanced, seeing some rough to hide in in front of the Tuetonics.
The Lithuanian bow eventually managed to beat the Baltic foot and some very resilient crossbows......but suffered heavily against the knights. The Lithuanian cavalry were as useless as they have been in every battle !!

Thanks to the organisers and my opponents.
