Karvon Parthians with Arab allies defeated gort7078 Arab Syria/Iraq 890-1008 AD 50-0.
The Arabs marched up onto some hills located on their right with medium foot in the center and horse on each flank. Our Parthians galloped up to effective range and methodically shot up their horse after driving off some light foot with our own light horse. The Arabs finally charged down the hill, but we fell back and finished off most of their horse and lights while our cataphracts pinned down their foot.

Karvon Parthians with Arab allies defeated SawyerK Roman 219-200 BC army with Numidian ally 56-4.
The Romans deployed their legion with woods covering the right flank. Their Numidian allies, a mix of lights, sortied out of the woods to oppose our advance. Our combo of light and heavy horse archers began to quickly drive back and destroy the Numidians, and the legions advanced to provide support. We enveloped the legion, focusing on its supporting units, and as gaps appeared, flanked and destroyed a couple of the legionaries leading the collapse of the Roman army.

Karvon Parthians with Arab allies defeated Indibil Byzantine 551-578 AD with Germanic Horse Tribes 53 - 8.
A river on our left with a nearby marsh considerably narrowed the field.
We deployed our mixed horse archers in two wings, supported by our camels and cataphracts on the right.
The Byzantines had some dismounted lancers and warbands in the center with lancers and horse archers on each flank with a few supporting light foot. The Byzantines advanced onto a hill in about the center.
We probed left around the marsh with our light horse on their right and harassed their mounted along the center with our horse archers after driving in their light foot.
Eventually, after suffering a few disruptions, the Byzantine horse charged to drive off our skirmishers. This exposed them to flanking and more concentrated fire, and most of the Byzantine horse and light foot were destroyed.

angusosborne (Nubian) defeats EdmondDantes (Arab) 49-22
The battlefield had a deep stream running across it, just close enough for us to be able to line the bank with archers, light foot and our awesome 24 point Med Foot, Raw, Defensive Spearmen (seriously I'm a big fan of the value). Major advantage to the Nubians, but for a long time the Arabs resisted stoutly, and made enough gains on our right flank to get me worried, bul I got one unit of cavalry around the flank and there was a swift collapse in the Arab ranks. Thanks for the game

angusosborne (Nubian) defeats Gort7078 (Arab) 64-43
I planted ty Nubian foot in some enclosures in the centre and engaged the Arab mounted troops as fast as possible while Dailami bore down on them. This worked. We decisively won the cavalry engagement in just enough time to get some flank attacks on the Dailami which otherwise sliced through our infantry like a knife through hot butter. Good game

jaerho (Welsh 600-1049 AD with Anglo-Saxon 600-870 AD allies) defeats angusosborne (Christian Nubian 550-1049 AD) 65-39
A brutal back and forth battle along a streambed. The Nubians looked well on their way to decisive victory until the Welsh shieldwall broke through to the Nubian archers. This central collapse brought the armies to even. A series of rally and counter-rally was won by the higher quality Welsh spears with some help from the remaining lights.

Karvon Parthians with Arab allies defeated Chris Townsend Palmyran 253 - 273 AD with Arab 312 BC - 299 AD allies 46-20.
The Palmyran foot took up a position in a large rough patch in about the center with their horse on each flank. Our light horse rode up on each flank and showered the opposing horse with arrows, drawing them out away from their foot or shredding them if they simply stood still. Our heavier horse archers helped rundown the enemy lights on the flanks with our light horse pursuing them to destruction. The enemy cataphracts proved more challenging, but with their supporters gone and the foot far away, we surrounded and shot them down over a few hours. While we did lose a few horse who wandered too close to the rough in pursuits, we destroyed enough of the enemy to see them finally break.

Karvon Parthians with Arab allies defeated EdmondDantes Umayyad Arab 685-750 47-8.
The Arabs took up a defensive position on a large hill, which filled most of the far left quadrant of the field, with their infantry in the center and assorted horse on each flank, screened by a few lights. We slowly enveloped the position, our horse archers driving off his lights and shooting up his mounted. With those gone, we flanked and destroyed a couple of his foot and the Arabs broke.

principesromanes (Ghaznavid 962-1187 AD with Turkish 600-1036 AD allies) defeats gort7078 (Arab Syria/Iraq 890-1008 AD) 54-8
The Ghaznavids brought elephants to a lancer fight. That plus enough bows to make it highly uncomfortable for the Arabs to hang back was never going to make for a fair fight. The Arabs tried, with one Veteran Dailami foot locking in an elephant, keeping it from the cavalry. But unfortunately, the Ghaznavids also had Dailami foot.
Thanks for the game!

The Welsh brought anything that could shoot or at least throw a stone. The Ghaznavids, anticipating a horde of Brythonic foot, didn’t and tried to take some infantry to break the line. And the usual lancers and a few elephants. Of course, that still left the Ghaznavids with a few missiles of their own.
The Welsh skirmishers managed to catch and make pincushions of one unit of Turkish cavalry, but concentrating on it allowed the Ghaznavids to pick off some of the remaining Welsh skirmishers, saving the elephants from becoming javelin pin cushions. In the maneuvering, the Brythonic foot managed to find a line of rough at the top of the hill. It certainly hindered the Ghaznavid lancers, but in the end there were just enough edges poking out of the line for to pick apart before the Anglo-Saxon allies could put too much flank pressure on the Ghaznavids and take advantage of the superior Welsh numbers.
Well played trying to fight off a bunch of cavalry with Brythonic foot!

principesromanes (Ghaznavid 962-1187 AD with Turkish 600-1036 AD allies) defeats Chris Townsend (Palmyran 258-273 AD with Arab 312 BC – 299 AD allies) 43-18
The Ghaznavids lined up with two massed archers, a Dailami foot, an elephant and some horse archers against the Palmyran archers, irregular foot and Roman auxilia supported by two cataphracts and some light horse.
Lots of arrows quickly made their presence felt – the Palmyran foot making quick work of two Turkish cavalry and while the supporting Palmyran light horse similarly became pin-cushioned. Outnumbered, the Palmyran cataphracts were never going to have a great day but it was an open question of whether the elephant would make its way over to help with the cavalry battle quickly enough to save the badly outnumbered infantry line. In the end, the elephant was rather exposed so had to contend with javelinmen come to trouble its day. The remaining Ghaznavid horse won their engagement (and mostly ran off in pursuit) while the Ghaznavid infantry line held out longer than expected – only one massed archer breaking before the battle ended.
Thanks for the game!

principesromanes (Ghaznavid 962-1187 AD with Turkish 600-1036 AD allies) defeats Indibil (Byzantine 551-578 AD with Germanic Horse Tribes 260-492 AD allies) 46-0
The Byzantines brought lancers. The Ghaznavids brought elephants. That’s hardly a fair fight.
The Byzantines did their best with some supporting horse archers, a warband and a unit of dismounted armoured lancers, but they were still out shot and outflanked (especially the infantry). The Ghaznavids also brought an artillery piece which gave a significant boost to their shooting power, probably being responsible for two or three disruptions.
Thanks for the game!

Karvon Parthians with Arab allies defeated rockmanbob123 Samaritans 25-375 w germanic foot tribes 105-259 44-8.
The armies met on an essentially featureless plain. The Sarmations deployed two lines of armored lancers and trotted forward. We placed a line of light horse in the lead with a second line of horse archers a bit behind and our cataphract in reserve.
Our lights rode forward, enveloped the enemy line and began pouring fire onto the armored foe. The Sarmations charged to drive them off, scattering a bit in the process. Our lights reformed to pick on the more isolated ones and our horse archers rode up to lend support. Several of the Sarmation units were now fairly weakened.
The Sarmations charged, where able, driving our horse back and getting more spread out in the process. They did manage to catch and break one of our lead footed horse and pursued that one off the field. Our remaining horse continued to close and shred more of the lancers, breaking a couple and weakening others.
Our cataphract moved up and pinned down an isolated lancer and our camel flanked it. That one soon died and our horse moved in and finished off a couple of fragmented units and the Sarmations folded and fled.

SawyerK with the Roman 219-200 BC army and Numidian ally
defeated
ChrisTownsend and his Palmyran 253-273 AD army with Arab ally
by 67-34.
The Palymyrans leapt to the lead by methodically eliminating the Roman light foot with their more numerous lights, but the Romans fought back when their main battle lines joined. The key blow came when a Palmyran cataphract followed a routed Roman light foot and left itself open to a rear attack by the Roman elephant. With the back of their battle line secure, the Romans were able to eliminate their opponents.
