Yeah - we agree that the mortars are a little ineffective currently!

Thanks for all the feedback - good stuff!

Cheers

How come in certain scenarios one or more tanks do not move? It isn't because its bogged down either. They will turn and fire but no movement. :?:

Can you be more specific - please post the mission and where roughly on the map the tanks are. There is a known issue with one of the reinforcement tanks on the DDay mission being placed somewhere it cannot move, but any other instances of this problem would be very useful to know.

Thanks for the feedback

I've had reinforcements arrive in some of the desert missions where they are placed initially in spaces where they are stuck and cannot move.

artillrey observer (i think!)..still has 'missing_ids_ on selection at start of mission when you are purchasing units... cromwells have no sfx on this mission (tiger ambush)...i found hold the line really hard,...but tiger ambush fairly easy.. due to the thinking i had to do in previous scenario

Do you recall anything that happened just before, in the AI turn?

just thought i'd reply to chappie who was doubting there are 4 tigers in operation cobra...yes there are!!.. tried quoting at the end of message but made a hash of it, so thought i'd reply here instead(dear o dear it's late y'know!)... took em all out with clever positioning, taking advice of latest posts..( sorry, cant remember who!) and took out 2 more different waves of varied armour, to be savaged by another wave  7 attempts and still not there!! this is a tuffie! has anyone completed it lol!? think im just gonna grab the points, i may be overthinking a bit too deep lol! game occasionally overheats my machine still, so i've knocked back the detail a bit, and that seems to have done the trick..oh ps. please release this on ds... it's really a great game..the sg111's seem a little over powerful against armour..i know its a 75, but the moving and firing thang ... must have some bearing! the tigers' power on the other hand seems spot on, and the rest seems really balanced.. is there gonna be russians too?..and can u think about an add on or future release with extra units.. i want this for pc and ds .. oh yeah ruse is out in sept now,.. so you should get this out first!!..more music is needed too!! same old track gets on my wick a bit now.. intro track is great though... have you ever wondered about getting a talented band of musicians to write an album, and then release 1 track every 3 levels that someone gets through... give the band 1 percent of sales, and change the tracks to cheesy midi for the soundtrack to the game!! someone will do this soon..i think it's a corking idea!! they play live, that advertises the game, .. get em on the bbc if they're endorsing the game... too many 'hans zimmer does ww2' atm.. really !!! most people i know turn the soundtrack off after 10 mins, and leave it disabled for the rest of time.. what an opportunity!! i teach music for a living ( 20 odd yrs) and know scores of good musicians who are going to waste.. check out 'icaruss' on you tube.. good buddies of mine..they'll do it!! nothing musically has come out of the gaming industry since original c&c.. ( i'm a mechanical man!)...(just do it up!) and final fantasy has some good bits in it, but thats not my kinda game!.. anyhow,.. ive had my music rant and i'm off to bed !! pps... what about re-stocking infantry units with anti tank?

Alright I"ll take your words for it, so there are two scenarios then that have 4 Tigers.

I guess I really did get super-duper lucky to only really have to deal with one, after I knocked out one of them right off the bat, and then played a little bit with the other. I suppose my 5.5 Artillery and Bomber bombardments may have scored some great hits in the FoW tiles to crush the other two?

That's probably what happened, and I wasn't even aware of it! On the one hand, I wish we had more details on what was going on in those FoW tiles, but then on the other hand, that would sort of defeat the purpose of FoW in a manner of speaking. Tuff decision on what to do there... go for more realism, or game-play fun?

As for your take on Music, since we are mostly playing as the Americans this game, why not throw in the old "When Johny comes marching home..." Just make sure you get the extended version as the original at 2 minutes is just too damn short for such a great tune. Maybe you can get permission to rip it from the original Civil War General game from Sierra :P

do i delete version 0.6 before clicking on 0.7 ? .. i know this sounds obvious, but i've bought games that just "add on".. also, i,ve noticed the same thing as 'obsolete',... that sometimes ( especially in operation cobra!!!) that tanks say they have no l.o.s. , but the red targetting flag comes up, and u can still shoot and destroy....how do u take a screenshot?...i tried pressing the 7 key but nothing happened. :? ...johnny comes marching home!! lol!!

I think it's F2 to take a screenshot, which is saved to the screens directory.

Cheers

This has never worked before so I've had to resort to PrintScreen. I suspect if you manually create a screens directory it may suddenly work though. Make that for future fix on the installer?

It creates the directory, but it might be because it's not doing it in the use directory, it would try and drop them into the install dir, which won't work on machines with limited user access, or Vista/7 much of the time. I'll get it fixed.

Thanks!
