Hitler and Il Duce have decided that a Clausewitzian military and political victory is the only acceptable solution. Axis minor victories are unacceptable.
Sealion has begun and Italy has joined the axis. This is the dawn of an axis New World Order. Construction of a temple of Mars has begun in Berlin. Il Duce has begun construction of a temple of Nike, the goddess of victory in Rome.

Field Marshal Von Manstein has commited his first tactical blunder, since being commissioned to lead the assault on the low countries/France and Norway.. His brilliant assault in his personal mot inf corps on Southampton combined with luftwaffe and kreigsmarine shorebombardment have unexpectedly cleared the port defenders. The 2nd assault wave was still in Antwerp having a pre victory celebration and had to be rushed into transports with hangovers.

General Rommel has been promoted to Field Marshall and will be given command of his personal mot inf corps next turn. Field Marshall Rommel will soon launch an operation to conquer Greece.

First British port captured!

Il Duce made a small mistake by purchasing a sub to soon before his manpower was white?
The sub will be used for naval recon, supporting amphib ops in the med and eventually when Port Said is captured allow access to the Atlantic for the Italian navy in the Battle of the Atlantic.

For some annoying reason Field Marshall von Manstein's leader ship affect on units in range while in England doesn't seem to apply to my air units in France. My fighter is at 79%.

London's burning. Field Marshall von Manstein adds London to his list of capitals.
To the right you can see the result of my sub ambush. Unfortunately the sub blocking the eastern end of the English channel was one hex to short to block for my BB.

The results of the first turn of the greek conquest was not too hot. In order to increase operational tempo, Rommel is being sent directly to Alexandria where axis forces will attempt to cut off the eighth army from supply.

The recently formed Army Group Rommel captures it's first capital: Athens.
It took 3 tac bomber, 2 BB and 3 infantry attacks to get it.
Next turn Rommel will personally launch his first ever attack on Alexandria with the second half of his army group.
The Italian mot inf corps you see will join with the one all ready in Libya and the Italian tank corps that will assist Rommel's capture of Alexandria and the destruction of the Eigth Army. Birmingham is in German hands.

Il Duce has decided to promote General Graziani to Feild Marshal asap.

No. The challenge of this AAR is what can the Axis accomplish pre barbarossa and what an ideal barbarossa looks like.It's about operational tempo.

Secondarally I'm planning on leaving the UK the convoy ports(Is Edinburgh the only one) and have fun using combined arms tactics to win the Battle of the Atlantic.

Thirdly, I'll have more fun using subs to recon North American ports for naval transports, shadow them and ambush their invasions with strategic reserves.

Field Marshall Rommel will lead the assault on Alexandria. German elements consist of a panzer, mot inf and 2 inf corps. Also a german fighter,strat are available
A german mot inf and inf corps and 2 tac bombers from the greek conquest will be shipped to rejoin Army Group Rommel or capture turley

Italian elements include a tank and mot inf corps, 3 inf corps will block western advance against the 2 axis fighters. Italian reinforcements include a tac bomber from the greek conquest and a newly purchased mot inf corps.

Against a human this would be a dumb deployment with 2 units west of alexandria, but I'm guessing my 2 panzer korps will easily cut off from supply the eighth army either via the quattro depression "sea" hexs or the south end of the map.

The second italian sub was newly built with the first 60 pp's. Hopefully the sub ambush will work against any British attacks on my transports.

The results of Field Marshall Rommel attack on Eygypt. Alexandria should fall next turn. Just as I suspected the AI was too dumb to realize the threat of being cut off from supply. The sub ambush wasn't triggered.

Field Marshall von Manstein has left England along with his personal mot inf corps and a panzer korps for Danzig and the conquest of Sweden. Air operations against Sweden are tricky when you don't have strat ops one yet.

The strat bomber goes on the point near Gndia poland with 5 supply and tac bomber based in norway can reach one hex from Stockholm. A fighter and a second tac bomber based in Norway will have to adance along with 2 inf corps based in Norway to attack Stockholm. The invasion will consist of: 1) an amphib attack near Stockholm. 2) An invasion of Sweden from Norway to give better supply if the attack gets bogged down. 3) An amphib invasion near the Stockholm attack to rapidly meet the Norway attack.

Field Marshall von Manstein will lead the assault with:
1 Pz 2 mot 3 and inf corps
1 fighter 2 tac bomber and 1 strat bomber from the Luftwaffe
1 BB 1 DD and 1 sub from the Kreigsmarine

After the conquest of Sweden Field Marshall von Manstein will vacation in Sweden with his army group until operation barbarossa begins where his army group will be the schwerpunkt of operation barbarossa.

General Grazianni has finally been promoted to Field Marshal and will lead Italian troops in the middle east. Italy will finally start spending pps on research to build manpower.

Alexandria falls to Rommel. I hungary for hungary and romania to join the axis.

General Guderian has propused to incorporate axis minor and iitalian combat units directly into german army and mech army formations as the fourth element to be used as the fourth attacker of emeny corps/garrisons.

When I look at General Guderian's operation barbarossa wish list where axis minor can be italian units:
18 german inf corps
9 axis minor inf corps,
21 german mot inf corps
6 axis minor mot inf corps
9 german tank corps
1 axis minor tank corps
3 german fighters
2 axis minor fighters
3 german tac bombers

If wishs were ponies, we would all be rich from golden road apple pp's.

I wonder how John Lennon will like growing up in german occuppied Liverpool.
The tempo of combat operation will slow down in England to preserve pps.
A german bb, dd and sub can be seen returning to the baltic to support Field Marshall von Manstein operation against Sweden.
Hmm, that british bb sitting in my port needs to be killed.

Preparation for Field Marshall von Manstein's attack on Sweden which will be launched in a couple turns. A new tac bomber will be deployed next turn and the turn after that to assist the operation.

The Eighth Army has been cut off from supply. The two german and 3 italian inf corps will pin in place and wait for allied efficiency to drop to zero before going for the easy kills.

2 german mot inf corps were purched this turn and will combine with the german armour and the itallalian mot inf corps to form a mech army. Field Marshall Graziani has been deployed to the italian mot inf corps to boost italian efficiency. Their job will be to push up the med coast to turkey to establish rail movement in the middle east.

Field Marshall Rommel's mot inf, the italian armour and the italian mot inf corps(still in it's transport) will combine with a german armour in taranto and a german mot inf corps in athens to form a second mech army that will launch an amphib invasion of Turkey of adanana then ankara.

German subs made their first attacks this turn.

Army Group von Manstein will leave port next turn.

First infantry builds for operation barbarossa took place.
Yugoslavia will be attacked in a few turns with the first 6 barbarossa infantry units.
Hungary and Romania have joined the axis and their inf corps have been railed to cities near their barbarossa launch points.

Mech Army Group Rommel has a second mech army assembling near the coast of Turkey. 2 mot inf corps built this turn will deploy to eygypt to comple his first mech army.

Italian subs attack the UK bb providing supply to the cut off 8th army.

The attack on Sweden goes well. Maybe Stockholm will fall next turn.

The attack on Adana was not so hot. The armour and the italian mot inf will move inland to clear landing room for axis air support.

In 2 more turns I can buy the 6 inf corps needed to complete the 9 infantry armies that General Guderian propsed.
Still 3 more mech armies, an amour army and 2 fighters on Guderian's wish list.

Germany gets level 4 organization and level 1 radar

Field Marshall Guderian has been given command of his own personal mot inf corps and will lead 3 inf armies along the
Black sea coast.

I had to overuse my rail network to move corps close to the border for operation barbarossa.
I just need to wait for Finland to join the axis, then Field Marshall von Manstein units in Sweden can rail into Finland then
advance to Leningrad. Then launch barbarossa late, because of the deep flank attacks from Finland and Turkey.

Turkey is conquered by a Field Marshall Rommel mech army.
Next turn I can rail this mech army to Erzurum closer to the USSR border.
The italian navy prepares to enter the black sea next turn.

Rommel's second mech army and an italian infantry army occupy Cairo.
