I don't want to get off on a tangent but by the Allied aiprpower training in the easrly years they would not have been able to effectively do what they do in the game.

So yes you are correct in numbers of planes, and also in tanks, the allies should have been able to do much better than they did.

However in this game you are higher up the command chain and have forces that should be fighting with their training and level of competence that they had historically.

Which means in game terms that you should have a much easier time in winning as the Germans up until 1943 and then having it even out.

The original PG was not liked by most grognards for exactly that reason. The fact that it was easy to get into and the forces were unhistorically evenly matched made the great number of casual gamers very happy.

my point is that the majority of this game rests on the "what if scenarios". i will agree with your point that Allied combined arms relating to ground attack was significantly behind the Germans, they had been honing those skills as far back as the Spanish Civil war with the Condor Legion, but I will not give the germans that much of an advantage in air to air combat. Britain did not send the numbers they needed to in France, and again my point was that most of french airpower was held back to protect cities. When allied planes sortied above battlefields they were outnumbered and went at it in a piecemeal way. There is no sense in trying to compare this game to historical reality, there are much better games for that. Most serious gamers, who would want reality are going to go for something different

had a chance to run through the Kiev gambit which brought me to Moscow. Extremely frustrating with the weather. With 2 turns left i was able to secure a marginal victory.

I lost my Mountain unit

thank goodness the scen ended when it did as half of my air force was going to crash--please put warnings for low fuel

On to the Caucaus---this map looks massive

decided to run the 2nd campaign which was early moscow--great weather. decisive victory. Back to england again. saw a couple of radar systems on the southern coast. Could the developers tell me the 'ins and outs'? My assumption is that they are going to be used in conjuntion with AA or are they stand alone AA batteries?

Radars should give initiative bonus to friendly fighters within certain range. Their use is not fully functional jet.

Ok---i have three campaign paths running from my original:

2nd Sealion (after a dec vic from early moscow-no kiev cauldron, Guderian's choice)
From Russia to Italy
From Kursk to Moscow'43

You might say I am rather engaged with Panzer Corps---haven't found any major issues in the last little while

One of the three campaigns has finished:

Finished Moscow 43 with Dec. Vic, and then through the English and American Armies back into the sea at Normandy. This scenario was tough because I could not deploy any air power. Which from a historical perspective is understandable, but considering that I just finished off the Russians with a huge air force to bring west, it was odd. I guess it made it a little more fun, but these last two scenarios of this arm of campaign tree went like a steam roller.

Uran, is there going to be an info box that give info regarding prestige losses from strategic bombing? Also, when enemy units fire, the unit being fired on should be centered on the map. There were times where I could follow which unit was being fired on-especially from Allied ships.

I have to finish the other two campaigns running-one with 2nd sea lion and one from italy

Decisive Victory

Allies seem to run out of units and prestige. Last 3-4 objectives captured as empty cities. Last one captured was by a major rail movement. Perhaps this option should not be allowed if the city is not under friendly control--?

On to Sealion

Yes same to me, the last 4 or 5 objectives were undefended only in one of them was an anti Tank gun. That was to easy. :-)

I am now playing Greece and wondering where is the Fw190a??? And i cant buy a new Core unit in Greece is this by design?

Overall i like this game, its great, its a good mixture of the "great PG" with some new and good ideas!!! I cant await to purchase the game and support the Devs! Hopefully their comes more games Like this!!!
There are so much possible Scenarios :-))

All actions like ambush, neutralization and similar should have on map notification in the future.

Fw190A was used in Greece?? I think it was not. Smaller core availability in Greece and Kiev is by design.

Ah ok my fault, i' ve read in some publications that the Fw190a was used as the second standard fighter since 1942 ... it seems i've played to much PG :-) there you've got the Fw190a earlier :-)

The Barbarossa Map on "Normal" was a bit too easy, maybe the map is too small, i played agressive without risks, as i won 9 turns were remaining, maybe the maps should be larger?
And i wonder about the deployment phase on the Kiev Map, not enough hexes to deploy all my Air Power in the deployment phase, so i had to deploy it in turn one, it would be fine to make a larger deployment zone :-)

In fact smaller means zero, cause i could bought no core unit :-) But thats ok, otherwise it would be to easy i suggest.

WTF?

In one of the campaign trees im following, after Russia I get sent to the Italian campaign, defending Sicily and italy. I controlled all victory hexes and there were no more allied land units left with even about 6 turns left and with nothing left I clicked down to last turn and was given the loss and taken to the Gustav Line? Am i missing something here?

Wow the low countries are hard as hell. first time in a ww2 game that ive seen that. maybe too much?

doing the 1939 campaign and just dont have enough to beat them with - gues as the axis commander you have to execute it perfectly with no margin for error.

This is a certain bug. On gameplay side with your core units in Italy how would you evaluate scenario by difficulty? Was it too easy?

Well there are layered defensive lines in it with tough armour here and there. I have no problem with it in stand alone mode but because it is among first scenarios maybe it should be easier for new and casual players.

The scenario itself was difficult to say the least, the shear weight of Allied power was very difficult to achieve. I desperately held on to victory objectives to ensure that the Anglo-American forces could not produce units in captured cities. My forces all in all were decimated in strength. Overall, though i only lost a one star pzvg in southern italy

I left all of my artillery and kept my tac bombers in northern italy, away from the wasp nest of allied airpower in Sicily. I distributed the armor throughout italy knowing that there would be multiple landing areas. I used two tigers, one PzVG and three Inf unitsto hold in Sicily. I did not move any of the infantry units once they got into cities as Allied Air and naval power reduced all of my overstrength (15) HW and pioneer units throughout the course of the scenario. I methodically attacked allied fighters to ensure the free use of my tac bombers. Air superiority was achieved at the 1/2 to 3/4 point where the tac bombers were finally able to tip the balance. A very tough one indeed.
