ITC Lisbon - 3rd & 4th September - MORE PLAYERS NEEDED!

Post by petedalby »

We are keen to expand the number of teams playing at Lisbon this year and we are close to finalising a 2nd GB team. We’re also interested in hearing from players who would like to be part of a Barbarian Team comprised of players from other participating countries.

So – do you fancy a unique wargaming experience in Lisbon - either as part of GB2 or playing as a Barbarian?

If so, please PM me or email me at peterdalby@talktalk.net

The 4 periods are on the FoG Forum here:

viewtopic.php?t=24302

The first GB team is Dave Ruddock, Ian Stewart, Richard Jeffrey-Cook and myself.

I need to hear from you by Saturday 16th July please? Please note the ITC Challenge is the same weekend as the Oxford Doubles event.

Cheers
Pete

It's a shame the Barbarians is becoming a fixture. Originally it was intended to have a Baa Baa team only to even up numbers and IIRC the 1st Baa Baa team was at Ghent and not repeated for several years. That ITC is struggling for teams too is regrettable, it was a great comp. in the heyday of DBM but now I fear for its future.

Well, to be fair, normally there wasn't a barbarian team because the top team was asked to supply a second team.

We have eight FoG teams this year, so not too shabby:

Spain
Italy
France
GB
Portugal 1
Portugal 2
Barbarian
USA

Greece falling of the international scene hasn't helped as you can't simply invent more countries :)

Well in 2011 the GB team placed with the rest...off the podium. In utter shame and humiliation.

I was and I got a great big first place trophy. Very nice trophy it was too.

Team USA, amassing a massive 13 points from three rounds, played on the bottom table and got 12 points in the last round and surfed up to third.

There Dave goes mis-leading the public.

Dave's team got thrashed so horribly they did not get on the podium. And got less points than the USA team. But he did get a trophy for his division. He actually doesn't know how to read it as it says 1st place for his division but he normally gets a trophy labelled 2nd place.

If the trophies are big I don't want to win. We're flying easy jet. It would cost too much

Remember this is from Dave's perspective. He's a tiny guy. So for him big is 15mm.

Although Dan wouldn't know how big the first place trophies are seeing as he didn't get one.

By the way - Dan's a Giant.
