Empires of the dragon - Yi Korean list question

Post by bayouwars2001 »

I just came across a most unusual troop type and want to make sure it is not a typo.
Yi Korean skirmishers - page 154 of E+D; front rank - 1/2 javelin/light spear/swordsmen and back rank - 1/2 bow. This is a pretty strange mixed unit for skirmishers and must be the only light foot with swordsmen capabilities!
Who are these uber skirmishers? No historical description was given.
Any clarification/comments would be most appreciated.
Thank you
Chris Johnston

All I know is that it is not a typo. It is a great troop type. The rest of the army lets it down.

I don't see any massive problem with the army. Where is its weak point?

It can do lots of things reasonably, but none of them well.

Oddly enough some of my painted Yi Korean figures are on ERM site. Tony thought they were OK. No accounting for taste I suppose :o

I have not used them with FOG yet so cannot speak for their prowess but TBH I would rather use troops that I have an affinity with and lose than use troops just to win a battle.
