New Roman mod for COW

Dear Iain,

I am trying to build a new Roman mod for Cow. So far, I have added Roman city names and changed the side names on all maps including the Roman map pack from the COW patch. I also would like to romanize the cities by transferring the buildings from Legion to the COW cities. Is that possible?

Yes, I think so. You'd need to adjust the Legion building graphics so they fit the CoW city screen background colours. I'm not sure if they fit size wize - you'd need to check and make sure they matched the CoW format. You could copy the grass background tiles from Legion across to get a grassy background.

You also need to add the building you want to use to buildings.txt, but the format is slightly different.

There is no technical reason this can't be done - its just all a bit fidly and time consuming.

Thanks Iain,

I already thought that the sizes need some adjustment, but which Software application do I have to use in order to edit the buildings, UI Icons etc..? I know that I can have a look at each building,unit UI file when I use Imaging but I am not able to edit them with that program. Can you tell me what I require in order to change the pcx. files?

You need something like Photoshop or paintshop pro. There are probably cheaper or free programs that offer many of the options you need but I'm not familiar with them.
