Multiplayer 'Objective Failed'

I was playing multiplayer for the first time tonight in the 'Killing Fields' as the Allies. Objective appeared to be capture and hold more VPs than opponent by end of turns or destroy all opponents units.

However, after my opponents 3rd turn, by which point neitherof us had seen the whites of each others eyes it stated the game had completed. When i log in and see the replay it just states 100% and then 'Objective Failed'. Is this a bug? What happened? Did i misunderstand the objective?

Same here. Just the other day it happened to me and another player.

From the other thread it seems to suggest that if people surrender we would get 'Objective Failed' so i'm not sure if that is the case although seems unlikely 3 turns in!

Will try MP again next week and see if the same problem occurs and report back!

Nope.

I was playing another person and on turn 3, the game just ended. He was surprised, but I have seen it before on maybe 2 games before on the same map. Our forces never fired a shot.

Not seen this before, however...sometimes shows 'objective failed' when you win, which doesn't matter but it's a bit strange...
