Real historical b&w photos for all units

Post by evgeny81 »

Hello!

Guys, I've done for each unit are real historical b&w photos.

Download the archive here: http://depositfiles.com/files/11f130ksr

All pictures correspond to the real historical data.

Sizing of Images: PNG, 240*160px

Just unzip the file and replace the entire folder "Panzer Corps/UI/bigunits/"

Good luck!

"Historical photo" mod. Replaces the original "big units" pictures in the photo. :)

Very nice. Especially like the one for 38 tank. I thought it was funny though how the soldier pictures for minor nations are of those injured and all bandaged up. I guess it's hard to find pictures of them from that era.

Hi, I do not have the original set, but I did use it for my mods. Originally it had around 400 b&w images to replace the "bigunit" pictures of the units in the unit info screen, but as you can see it was made in 2011, for the first version of Panzer Corps, and since then many new units were added to the game, mainly for the Allied Corps campaigns, and obviously the replacement b&w images for those are not included. Also, many of the original b&w images by evgeny81 show incorrect unit types or of bad quality.

However, as I wrote I did use it as a base for my Battlefield: Europe MOD, but also added a lot more and changed around 100 which had incorrect or bad quality images. My MOD currently contains more than 800 b&w pictures for the bigunit images, but this number also includes images for the Minor nation's units added by this mod. Still it lacks some of those newly added unit images like the captured units or the special Sherman types, but those are not very common units and can be added (duplicated) easily so this set of b&w unit images can be used with the official campaigns as well.

Yo I just checkek the big unit file in your mod and I couldn't see the 800+ images you were referring to. Are they embedded somewhere else by any chance?

They are in the "BattlefieldEurope16.zip\Battlefield Europe v1.6\UI\bigunits\" folder. There are 807 images for the bigunit pictures in the unit information screen.

The contents of the bigunits folder can be used seperately to replace the vanilla bigunit images for any official or fan made campaigns. You can add them with GME or by making a backup copy of the original files and then overwrite contents of the "...\Panzer Corps\UI\bigunit\ "folder with these b&w images.
