I hope the DLCs will be on sale soon. I wonder when DLCs need to be patched, will the patch be released separately?

From what I understand, both DLC '41 and 1.05 will be released at the same time. You know '39 and '40 are already on sale right?

None of the DLCs are on sale.
Like DrkCon said, they will probably be release together. But you don't have to buy DLC 41' to have 1.05 update. It will be downloaded separately.

I think by sale he means available to buy - and yes they are available!

Sorry for the misunderstanding:)(I‘m not good at English), I mean if slitherine plan to offer a discount for the DLCs this month or early next year, I will wait until then to buy the DLCs. If there's no plan, I will buy now...why not?

The DLC`s will not be discounted, at 4.99 USD they are hardly profitable anyway, if we would go lower we would make a loss.

I'll quote myself from another thread:
Yes. If you want to play for example "Oslo" from '39 DLC, you'll have to copy Oslo.pzloc and Oslo.pzscn (you found them in Panzer Corps\DLC\GC39\Data) to Documents\My Games\Panzer Corps\Scenario.
You then can select them through the custom option is the Scenario menu.
Please not that these scenarios, were balanced to be played in a campaign and not individually.

:? No, neither the DLCs nor the campaign can be played as allies.

Only single scenarios offer this possiblity.

Meaning: copy the DLCs files into your personal scenario folder and you're set to play.

The scenario are way better, more varied and interesting than the default Panzer Corps/General campaign.

Yeah, I definitely recommend both the 1939 and 1940 DLC. Especially the 1940 DLC rocks IMO.
I am a completely new player and could only get a marginal victory in Poland so it is off to the lowlands I go

I am just curious if someone could point me to a good strategy guide or tips on Poland if such exist?

Thx

I guess I should play the game a bit more before buying the additional DLC huh?

Why? It's not more easier or harder. It has a different feeling from vanilla campaign.
There are people who prefer the kind of missions variety that DLC offer.
Too learn it doesn't matter from where you start.

Not sure.
The DLCs, having more scenarios per time, have a more steady core units. You really get to konw the strengths\weaknesses of those initial units.
The original game has a faster pace.

DLCs (at least in the beginning) have more lenient turn limits, generally easier decisive victory conditions and usually, very easy moderate victory conditions. Plus, as the others said, by spending more time in a given period, you get to know your units and your opponents strengths and weakness better (and there is less of an advanced "when, what and how to upgrade" metagame than in the base campaign).

One thing I like in the DLC campaigns is that the marginal victories no longer equal time, but a reduced number of objectives. It was actually rather annoying to keep on calculating which is the last turn for a decisive victory and it created a haste symptom that sometimes was unnecessary and irritating. It seems more appropriate to me to link the victories on achieving certain goals in a single time interval.

Then for the game to be a success on your part are you counting on the DLCs to sell the actual game without being necessarily profitable themselves?

While the idea was a risky departure from the standard Panzer General way of doing things, we're very happy with the end result. And so are our players, from pretty much all the feedback we've received about that change! :D
It's also lead to a few comments about the DLC being too easy, but we don't think is necessarily a problem. An easier game is more approachable to a broad audience (no ROFLSTOMP on the new guy on their first attempt to play) and for veteran and elite gamers, they can just crank up the difficulty setting (5 base, 3 bonuses expanded difficulty settings, and 1 ultimate too now) so we do our best to keep everyone as happy as we can.

This does put control of difficulty squarely in the hand of the player though, something a few people have been uncomfortable with. But if there was a perfect solution, every game in existence would use it, and so would we. :)

I don't think so. The game is the game. If it wasn't a success already, I don't think we'd be talking about adding additional content to it. ;)
Additional content is made to give something to the fans who enjoy the game MORE (and better things) to enjoy about the game. There's only so many times we can expect our players to replay the stock campaigns over and over before they lose interest, so we offer high quality supplemental campaigns to keep interest steady but strong over a long period of time.

All the while, profits can be reinvested into the game to pay for creation of additional content, features, art, and thus the cycle continues. Our strong community supports our game, and in turn we continue to produce a quality gaming experience worthy of continued community support. :D
