Put your unit requests here please
I think it is the best option to request for custom units in one thread.
Please keep in mind that not every unit request can be forfilled for various reasons.
Pay attention to some basic rules:
-First check the older posts of this thread if the request hasn't been made already (that will probably be only temporarily).
-Be so kind to post your request for a particular unit only once (don't spam).
-Be patient!, our benevolent unit-creators are also busy with their own projects.
-Be so kind to give always proper credits for the custom made units in your project.
Can we agree with the custom units being posted in this thread for download, that they can be used by everyone without asking permission but automatically agrees to give proper credits?
After some time there might be a long list here. I will do my best to keep it on an easy downloadable file that will be placed in this window.

Somebody has to be the first.
I could use some units with Finnish markings:
BA-10, BT-5/7, T34-40, KV-1A, T-26, T-28
I could use some units with Finnish and Russian markings:
T-38
Thank you for considering.

Great Idea Niki!!
I could use animations and "ground mode" icons for the exisitng vanilla AA units. I plan on making dual role AA units. I have already succeded making the 12.8cm a dual role unit due to the fact that it used the 8.8 icon,so it was just a matter of changing and matching data/efx files. I tried doing the other's w/o a "ground mode" and they looked pathetic
I could also use Camo'd skins for AT,AA,ART. towed units
Both of the above requests will be used in the "Mod that shall not be named" and the SE Mod. and released in them.
I would also do the dual role converions and release them seperately.
"The Mod that shall not be named" is under test att (unit converions complete)and it would be pretty simple to add the dual role AA's and the new skins.
Thanks in advance from any skinner or modeler that takes up these projects.

Google makes me think of blue swastikas ... but I'm not sure recolored tanks with a new marking would be what you have in mind anyway...

But that marking is what i had in mind. It cannot be mistaken for the russian tank. I even like the paint job. I'm sure the unit cannot be overlooked by the player on frozen terrain.
Vielen Dank!

No problem. Recoloring/rebadging the official icons is usually a pretty easy job.nikivdd wrote:Vielen Dank!

Flak, I tried using the swastika with shorter "ledges", but when resized it's really hard to see they have ledges at all. I also tried making the swastika black or blue without a white circle around it, but - again - it's very hard to see that way.
I'll also do more work on the actual skinned tanks, but not only does that take longer, it also requires me to work on the source code of my skinning app which I find hard to do as a short "in-between" like I did the finnish tanks above. I haven't forgotten you, though, and more skinning work from me will be coming eventually.

Unit suggestions
Within the scope of units which were actually employed I would suggest the following additions:
- A greater variety of Halftracks, as it existed in reality, e.g.:
1) Sd.Kfz. 251/9 with 75mm short barrel
2) Sd.Kfz. 251/10 with 37mm PAK
3) Sd.Kfz. 251/16 with regular armament + two additional flamethrowers
4) Sd.Kfz. 251/23 with 20mm auto-cannon
15min documentation on German halftracks in WWII:

- Panzerspähwagen Sd.Kfz. 234 with 75mm long barelled anti tank gun
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panzersp%C ... d.Kfz._234
I would also love to field some of the following prototype units in the fictitious US scenarios:
1) Flakpanzer IV "Kugelblitz"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kugelblitz
2) Panzerkampfwagen V - "Panther II" (mit Schmalturm)

3) Manschaftstransportwagen "Kätzchen"

4) Schützenpanzerwagen "Büffel" (mit 30mm MK)
