Re: GJS'44 - D-Day - June 11th - Waiting for Allied orders

Post by Ranger »

The Allied side has had a few minor technical difficulties and many of our BG commanders have been traveling.

I expect that the battles will begin sometime (anytime) between now and Monday.

The latest Ultra decrypts, coming from our boys at Bletchley Park, indicate that the ranks of our opponents, in anticipation of the impending June 11 battles against Allied forces, are plagued and riddled with widespread melancholy, dread, morose, anxiety, apprehension, and self-doubt.

LandMarine47's latest post fails to mask the enemy's sense of impending doom and fear.
His feigned courage and bravado belies the true nature of the desperation, helplessness, and abject vulnerability felt by all Axis soldiers in their futile denial of the inevitability of the punishment, vengeance, and justice that they will receive at the hands of their Allied foes. They shudder that the justice meted out to them will be in the forms of their death, their destruction, and their misery.

LandMarine47's post confirms exactly what the Intel boys at SAC HQ and Bletchly Park have been reporting. Boy they really are a bright bunch of lads.

Hmmm. Well hope everyone enjoys the coming battles as much as the Allied BG commanders are going to. Wouldn't want the Axis side to quit and spoil our fun etc....

ToodlePip and Cheers,

Major Ranger, SAC (Supreme Allied Commander)

Sorry I cant hear you a Convoy of Panther and Tigers were rolling about they said they were on their way to Caen. And the 88's were firing a volley at what I heard some much needed supplies that the paratroopers need in Caen. Can you repeat your statement? Wait the Fallschirmanjägers are showing off their fancy FG-42's  uh oh here come the Waffen SS with their new STG-44 Assault Rifles. According to the Drunk British Captain we found he said the Allies were only winning because they spam out Mortars. A British soldier pisses himself if he looks a Volksgrenadier in the eyes and they try to hid it with Mortar Rounds all over the place. And that "intel" are Fegelin's Prank calls to us..... Damn you Fegelin! Your feeding the Allies your Pranks!

Well now that Gottalove88's is retired why doesn't he join the fighting? Here on the German Side there are all night parties in festive towns while the Allies sleep in cold damp fox holes. We always welcome members the winning side. :D

Trungy has started (turn 1) and I think the allies are fleeing already (the Croc-crew heard the engines of my Marder).

The battle may be lost but for every defeat there is a lesson to be learned. (I know Ranger is enjoying himself at this news )

I will soon update the map and OOB.

As II/736/716 has nowhere to retreat to it will be dissolved and is placed in the reserve pool and will be back as reinforcement next day. The losses for being dissolved will be: 1x VG, 1x Eng, 1x HMG, 1x Scout, 1x PzSchreck, 1x Mortar, 1x 88mm, 1x Truck, 1x 251/1, 1x Puma, 1x Marder in addition to the 3 units lost in action.

You're right and wrong LandMarine47...

Yes, every failure or defeat is an opportunity to learn something and improve...
and
Yes, I am enjoying my teammates victory.
But,
No, I am not enjoying your loss. I'm not that kind of guy.
