Military Advisor LOLS

Post by Rossthegreat »

This only happened because I got fed up with my Military advisor repeatedly telling me that my military is pathetic.
Screenshots galore! My apologizes towards those people who don't like the screenshots.

Screenshot of Said incompetent military advisor wont' be shown til the end XD
This is how pathetic my military strength is.
Image
So I got fed up and decided to see how mighty Divine Ascendant is, and proceeded to scout. \
And I see that they have few good precdesors.
Image

Then I looked at my lovely tanks.
Image

And then thought long and hard, why is my military strength so pathetic!
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! TIME TO FIND OUT!

And I even cued Divine Ascendent in for several turns in advance by canceling stuff like open borders, trade pact each for one turn until last NAP was dissolved and I proceeded to dow immediately. Eh, because :P And decided to go with death from above tactics because I can't be arsed to transport all my tanks across the ocean on very... uninspiring map where continents is just circles and ovals. -.-

Drop podded 30ish Tachyon Tanks into her territory, and then went.. I don't think i saw that many in satellite scouting o.o How did she manage to hide all those soldiers from me! I was so sure my tanks would be basically immortal to puny strength 30 soldiers.
Image

Then after few turns, I learned how strong my tanks is... and that is pretty damn strong.
Those first few turns had Divine ascendant hurling 100-200+ soldier units after me of all kinds trooper, asssaulters, and prescedenrs.
And 2/3 of my 30ish tachyon tanks was lost in the drop podding and battling to establish a solid battleline and clearing out any remnants and then parked themselves into the cities as you see in the screenshot.
Image

This is just a tiny taste of what I saw in midturn battles. Great hordes of angry infantry and rabble versus elite tanks of mine.
And she had quite a few stacks of like that.
I survived such stacks by skin of my teeth and restored back upto full with nanobots, god i love nanobots now.
Image

Only after Divine Ascendent of ragesuiciding her soldiers upon formerly capital cities that she did drop from five stars to 3 stars! (Finally goddammit.) It made me feel better about cheapass losses of my cities to several blackholes and nukes. I two Metropolises, Reverie and Celestia to such weapons, she dumped like lots of them just to erase them form the map then dropped nukes on smaller cities.
I made sure to return the favor by nuking her smaller cities and wiping them off the map.
And she went nuts after I used the blackhole generator on her just once. I damaged a metropolis and she got pissy and erased two metropolises of mine from the map, what a douche. :O Both metropolises was at 30+ pop. oh well.

After I got to enjoy watching my Reverie and Celestia metropolises turn into wasteland, all my inhibitions I had about my WMDs was gone and used them strategically on huge stacks of solders she sent to me. See that huge wasteland east of Mecca? Yeah, there was three huge stacks there. Not anymore in revenge for Reverie. :) And I was gonna let her shoot at my tanks.
Image

The whole war actually managed to somehow make me think about Stalingrad in real life. Amusingly enough, I do have a city named Stalingrad.. I just didn't really expect to lose control of it several times and take it back and keep it again for good. History somehow managed to repeat.
My Poor fusion defenders lost control of it because I didn't really anticipate Divine Ascendant's army of conscripts to be so ... damn big.
To the point where I got fed up and brought my titans from capital city of mine into the fray.
Image

The war of Stalingrad was big enough to drag down Divine Ascendant another Star point.
Geez x.x
Image

Poor poor wasteland where Metropolis of Reverie used to be. ;_;
There's a flaw in combat system of Pandora First Contact.. it basically uses something bad and won't let you know that battles is taking place or a city of yours gets wiped until few turns later when you been wonder where the heck is it and why it isn't building new tachyon tanks for you. Only to find out that it got wiped from the map. This is quite a big flaw compared to civ 5 where I'm always aware of every single battle that occurs in my empire.
Yes, most of my losses come when a war gets big because it's impossible to pay attention to everything if I didn't see it happen. And this is where the AI have a dirty advantage over humans in this game. :(
Image

After MASSIVE stacks from them died out, I was doing stuff liek Orbital Bombardment on stacks of transports if I spot them via satellite scouting. They just get shredded. :D Then I noticed her steam running out,, then I started tossing nuclear missles and blackholes at random single lonely transport boats from her because, NEVER FORGET REVERIE AND CELESTIA 12/10!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER FORGET 12/10!!!
This is where I notice that her military finally dropped to 1 star status.
To sum it up, I lost two metropolises and several small cities to blackholes/nukes. XD And that happened because I used only one blackhole. It made her go nuts. Sucks to be her because her whole empire is now gone cuz she insisted on nuking my cities instead of my mighty tanks devouring her soldiers. :)
Image

So after I slay Divine bugs from pandora I decided to have a meeting with my military adviser again after the end of war.
Image

Then I laughed, their advisers is just like Civ Advisers who only value quantity over quality. XD
And turn before I met the military advisers. I got this popup..
Image

Although, I can't find that last city of Divine Bugs so they're still alive for now.. i'll be hunting it like tomorrow too sleepy now.

Advisor tips and advices were always silly, but funny, when I remember civ II.
--> ignore advisors, regardless which game
