I really enjoy playing Pandora, but there are some things which still could need some fine tuning. So here are a few ideas I have compiled over the last weeks.
+Orbital scans for example should have the option for automatic scans. If I'm not actually at war with another faction it is somewhat annoying to use the orbital scans manually to reveal hidden terrain. Maybe it would be possible to make it so that it is used automatically if available and is used on the neighboring hidden terrain of the homeland (maybe clockwise around the visible terrain or land first, sea second etc.)
+An auto-explore function for units would be a good idea, too.
+If automated Formers are attacked and damaged, they should automatically return to the next city to heal themselves.
+What I think is also quite elaborate is that units at guard function are woken up after an attack. So I have either to put them on guard again or heal manually. This should be automated, too. The event list on the right side after each turn shows what happened, so if I want I can look at the unit.
+ Automated construction of city improvements.
+ If city improvements are finished and the build queue is empty it would be nice if Wealth or Growth could be listed as next item automatically; then it would not be necessary to visit a city just for adding these options which are always available.
+Auto-upgrade of the vehicles designs in the workshop with the newest item if available after research. (Steel Armor > Titan Armor > etc.)
I think this automated functions should be optional, so that every player can customize the game as he likes.
*I use the German version of Pandora, so I hope I have translated back the terms correctly.
Ideas for finetuning

My idea is this: You know how when you research a new armor, there's a window that tells you all about it and at the bottom of that window there's a "workshop" button? Well I think that when you discover a new city improvement building, there should be a similar button that says "add to all queues" which will add that building to the end of all the queues. Obviously, people won't use this button every time and sometimes people will want to go around and manually make it first in the queue, but even then this option saves a lot of time. In the late game, I would definitely use this a lot.Sapiento wrote:+ Automated construction of city improvements.
I guess the potential issue is if it gets added after wealth, but I bet there's an easy fix to that.

That's good that OP listed that automated features should be optional. Because I dislike automation with sole exception of units on guard duty waking up when enemy unit shows up. That's the only automation feature I use in turn based strategy games xD

Master of Orion II has a similar function. Wealth is automatically shifted behind any new available improvement until it's finished.jdmillard wrote:My idea is this: You know how when you research a new armor, there's a window that tells you all about it and at the bottom of that window there's a "workshop" button? That wouldn't bother me the least bit. I like it.Sapiento wrote:Master of Orion II has a similar function.
