buying mac and pc versions

Post by dannyslag »

I'm going to buy this game because it looks awesome. But I have a pc desktop and a mac laptop. I see you offer both a pc version and a mac version. Is there a discount for buying both, or when you buy one do you get both? I game on both my machines, sometimes I'm just lazy and feel like sitting on the couch with my laptop instead of at a desk.

We don't have a system in place for buying both right now but if you mail support with your order info they'll try and get you sorted with a link for the additional platform.

Can't you just make a zip file with the installers for all the three different platforms? Or, if you want to save MB, you could make a single package including all the binaries for the different platforms and sharing art and music assets.

Yes but that forces people to download 4 times as much data as they need to and ends up with another set of complaints (Linux is twice the size of PC and Mac). We'll see what other options we can offer but nothing is going to happen over night.

I've been quite surprised when I noticed the Linux download provide two times the full game (one for 32-bit OS and one for 64-bit OS).
I think it could be avoided by repackaging it in a single archive containing 'Data' and 'Documents' only once, but two folders for binaries ('Binaries32' and 'Binaries64').

While I'm here, I would like to thank the support team, who has been astonishingly quick about linking me a Linux version (bought the Windows one by mistake).

Hi guys

we've listened and you now get all formats in a single package when you buy so you can install on your Windows PC, Mac or Linux system as often as you like.

We hope you enjoy the game!

Cheers

Very nice. I assume that we are to request new download links then by sending an email... right?
