SPM v. 0.7.15 is now available

Post by Nacho84 »

Hello all,

The latest update for SPM is now available. Just like all the updates we have been releasing since v. 0.7.9, the new update is available for you to download directly from the Matrix FTP: ftp://beta.matrixgames.com . When prompted, please specify the following username and password: SPMBetaTester/SpmBeta1114. I strongly recommend you to download the file using filezilla.

Inside the FTP you will find an installer file named SPM-Windows-Slitherine-0-7-15.exe, just download it and run it. Notice that you need to have your installation updated to at least SPM v. 0.7.8 first in order for it to work properly. If you didn't install any update from 0.7.9 onwards, don't worry, since 0.7.15 is a comprehensive patch and already includes all those changes, but please make sure you have updated to 0.7.8 first.

For those who prefer to install the update manually, we are also uploading a rar file in the FTP named SPM-Windows-Slitherine-0-7-15.rar. Just download it and overwrite your current installation with its contents, but please notice that you need to have your installation updated at least to SPM 0.7.8 first in order for it to work properly. Please refer to this link which features a step-by-step guide on how to perform the patching process.

This update includes bugfixes, some gameplay adjustments and, more importantly, support for 1366x768 resolution! :) Now you can run the game at either 1024x768 or 1366x768. Notice that we will generalize the solution in order to support higher 4:3 and 16:9 resolutions in a future update. You can see the full changelog here.

I will now "disappear" for a few weeks in order to get the mix-and-match gameplay mechanic in, which will require changes not only in the code but also to the asset files themselves. I'll still be monitoring the forums and post a few screenshots from time to time so that you can see the current progress, but getting this new feature in will take a while. In any case, feel free to keep reporting bugs and providing suggestions at the forums, we certainly take notes of all of them!

Could you give me some kind of a list on your priorities, from closest to farthest off?

What are the last two supposed to mean!?!
And aren't you already almost basically done with the RttM American gameplay?

Hello jack,

The plan is to provide this update via the auto-update system sometime next week. Since widescreen support involved many changes, we decided to release it as a manual update so that we can sort out any glitches (if any) before making it available through the auto-update system. We'll post a message here at the forums once the auto-update becomes available.

PBEM is support for multiplayer and 'number tweaking' means adjusting the numbers in the spreadsheet (prestige, costs, reliabilities, etc) so that they make sense. UI improvements is re-arranging some screens in order to make things more clear and the whole interface more usable.

Played a "fast" (mostly skipping to outcome) game to test for any crashes, freezes, obnoxious budget bugs etc.

None found! Played till 1978, landed on the moon in season 1.1970, by Gemini (didn't even touch the Apollo this time round).

I found one very minor steps minimap graphics bug in gemini direct ascent, will test it extensively tomorrow and post it tomorrow.
