Quick update from JCB headquarters, somewhere in Normandy:

Abbaye
The meadows are quiet as MLazar's cats lay in wait for the unsuspecting Englishmen. We've discovered an empty 3pt villa, with fresh coffee still warm at the tavern

Thaon
We receive radio silence from one of our scouting Shermans, sending an M5 to reconnoiter what has happened. We have previously located two 88's but they may have moved position...

Pegasus
not started (will be my 2nd set)

Hillman
Commander Morge has run into some of our 17 pound sweet hearts much to his chagrin I am sure near the 1pt flag. 3 panzers and 1 AA taken out, and some navy boys about to drop the hammer.

Bayeux
not started (will be my 2nd set)

Benouville
not started (will be my 2nd set)

Well the first battle has concluded.

Allies 0 - 1 Germans

I have to say it was a wonderful battle, but one man proved decisive..........one bloody man. Very well played Honour.

Abbaye

Germans 9 Honour
Allies 8 Pdaddy

It was a great fight! In the beginning the Germans took some losses without harming the Allied advance and the German commander had to withdraw to better defensive positions. Then, from good defensive positions a "trench" fight began with just a few losses each. The Allies had the upper hand until the middle of the battle when they had to continue their advance. The germans started to use hit & run tactics with their panthers giving the Allies several casualties.

In the last turn the Allies were in the lead by one VP when a lone panzerschrek were deployed by a halftrack on the 1VP-flag after a tremendous close combat fight including tanks, infantry, cannons, mortars and fighter planes.

Thanks for a great and close fight Pdaddy! It couldn't have been any tighter! :D

I cant see any Victory Points on the flags of Bayeux!?! I think we can play anyway but we should sort them out before playing too many turns.

The British hold one from the start. I guess thats a 5VP.
There is one German on their side of the river. I guess thats a 3VP.
There is one German in the Cathedral. I guess that could be a 1VP.
There is one in the barracks. I guess that's the German 5VP.
And the last one is a road exit which also belongs to the Germans, 3VP?

Cavehobbit, what say you?

HONOUR's battles
Abbaye against Pdaddy
Battle over, 9-8 to the Germans thanks to one single panzerschrek who died capturing the 1VP-flag in the last turn. Excellent battle!

Thaon against Jcb
Just a few turns played. Nothing much has happened. Jcb is moving on carefully as usual. :D

Pegasus against Coreysr
First turn played. One of my machineguns have wounded an infantry unit. Expect a lot of casualties on this one. It seems very hard for the Allies (I don't know his force though).

Hillman against Cavehobbit
We have played about 25% and there hasn't been too many losses yet. There seem to be Allied infantry in every bush and behind every tree. In fact there seem to be more infantrymen than trees to hide behind.

Bayeux against Guardsman
Deployment done. No main battle tanks on the German side. This can be tough! No VP allocated on the flags. We should sort this out before playing too much. I expect a tight and fierce battle on the streets.

Benouville against Wegeberg
First turn played. Wegeberg saluted the start of the battle by firing some mortars in the forest. My SS-soldiers laughed as they now know where to seek for the enemy. SS is coming!

In some cases(?) I've noticed the VP text is not shown in deployment. Don't know why.

P-A I'd say with the way these battles are playing out, you have breathed some considerable life back into the GJS series.

And I have to say Honour that was one of the greatest battles I've played so far in BA as a whole. Lovely balance on Abbaye.

Morge is well and truly whooping me. Though those 3 panthers last go cheered me up some. Unless I get given nukes half way through I'd expect a German Victory.

Looks like MLazar is all but eliminated - one vp left to take.

Games against landmarine and Random are in their infancy, so that leaves one still to pickup - though Nava did say he was busy for a few days.

I'm liking the fact everyone is posting updates in a single thread - good for the spectator.

Steady progress in Bayeux, surprise attack at Pegasus,Thoan well let's just say met some" blessed" 88's. Well one is truly blessed now, haven't used that much ammo in 30+ years. Too quiet at Bayeux hmmm.

Just a reminder:

For Pegasus there is a special rule: The Allies have two deployment zones. All units must deploy inside the deployment zone where they are at the start of the deployment phase.
