Piercing Fortress Europa, the new game by Frank Hunter, has just hit the digital shelves and is now available. During the World War II, the Germans have been trying to fortify the whole of occupied Europe, in order to prevent counterattacks from the Allied troops. Their propaganda named this defense system “Fortress Europe”. But even the biggest stronghold could have breaches and soon the German forces had to face with a large scale amphibious and airborne operation in the South of Europe.

Piercing Fortress Europa is a turn-based strategy game which covers the campaign of the Western Allies against the Axis forces in Italy between 1943 and 1945. From the Sicily beaches to the last major line of defense in Northern Italy, you will have to lead your men to victory along six challenging campaigns.

Unlike most of the wargames, Piercing Fortress Europa, is not focused on the army movements and actions but on supply. Although strength and disruption are important, you should particularly pay attention to the resources and their allocation. Organizing a major invasion is a logistical nightmare and you will have to take the right supply decisions to support some of the most complicated military operations of the war.

I know that many will gripe about windowed mode but give the game a try it is really good.
