Also nasty: There was only 1 railroad transport in Norway, so I clicked for another unit... and got a naval transport instead. :(
Yep, this was really annoying in this scenario...

What stupid failure i also often made (hopefully it is "made"), is to not look at the weather and curse about why my bombers won´t attack the cursed enemy.... then i look sometimes at the weather and doh..

Clicking end turn instead of resupply.

Stupid mistake No. 1: Moving a unit, encountering an enemy unit, attack. Instead of doing nothing and explore the spotting radius first before eventually attacking. Countless strength points lost due to carelessly attacking units with arty or Aa support.
Stupid mistake No. 2: Moving a unit, encountering an enemy unit, spotting, attack. Instead of moving one or 2 additional units adjacent for the mass attack bonus.

Sigh  .

A new sticky. Over-burning myself with the game. It is good to pause after a few days of zealous playing. Especially in mods, that can be very long... Also pausing before starting a new campaign is good. Too bad in that case I don't know what to do then in my spare time :D

IMO scenarios should be less then 30 turns long, and core should be 30 units at max. All above that takes great toll in terms of stress and time. Albeit even in such case the game is fun :)

Take an hour "break" of frenetically pacing trying to decide the balance of your core... should i get an extra fighter or an artillery hmm...

You reckon an hour is a long time!? I once spent a whole 2 week holiday thinking about what to add in a mod once!

Using my fighters for some recreational strafing to knock one point of a randon unit, but seeing they will also then damage me, and then still press the fire button. Trigger happy and dumb in equal measures.

My error numbber 1: start playing too late and making stupid mistakes because I'm tired.

My favorite mistake is to move units up to fast. Without scouting and following the vanilla campaign doctrine: always rush if possible. Last two scenarrio's I lost about 14 strength on Arties and experience too.
*EDIT: I can't tell you how glad I am that I chose the "reform units" option. I might have lost Oleh Dir otherwise. While I think his stats are stretching to gameplay he does come in handy of course ;) I also like to keep original kill rates on units.

Another mistake is that I don't really have plan for my core. I just finished GC39 now and support a 88 and AT gun because I want to have experienced versions of them. But they hardly get used. Maybe my home country, Belgium, can change that for the 88. I need to switch the AT to SP version before it is usefull in offensive scenarios.

Whoops, going off topic a little in the end there.

I do that a lot too, it's a bit like my finger is glued to my left mouse button and won't let go until I click it.

I agree 100%. My favorite scenarios are defensive scenarios with less than 20 turns and less than 20 units.

You do realise that there is a two-button mode in this game. It took me a while to adjust to right-clikcing to commit a move or attack but it did reduce my miss-clicks to almost zero.

You can also set the game to confirm end of turn.
