Well done with the new patch, it's revived this game for me. Comments:
1) You still occasionally get the AI trying to defend a front-line hex with artillery.
2) The small garrisons do seem more than a bit useless.
3) The AI seems to be taking a long time to take turns compared to pre-patch.
4) More countries should have artillery (does Spain have it? Belgium, Sweden, and Holland should have artillery)
But otherwise well done.
Congrats on the new patch + comments

1) In my current (and by the way my first) match the AI has pulled back all ships except one battle ship. It was easy to destroy, a little but stupid present.
3) Indeed, the AI needs a lot of time for … thinking? For sleeping! Only 5-10% of the CPU is used. In one hour the AI is able to play 12 turns. It’s like waiting in the trench for the next attack.

Yeah, after I posted this I started noticing problems with the game after this patch (though I'm still enjoying it).
Check the below picture - as you can see only Germany is paying maintenance, all other countries have zero maintenance despite having large armies. I think the AI has the same issue because it seems to be able to produce endless numbers of units and never suffers from maintenance problems. Even though I've occupied Paris and intercepted many convoys France still seems capable of maintaining a massive army, and Sinai has become a massive dog-pile of British troops. Russian troops are just pouring through. All of this makes for a fun game, but it is a bit of a drag to see that I can basically build a massive army for no cost.

EDIT: Yeah, looks like the Allies are paying no maintenance either -

I already wondered about the maintenance costs too. Because I am new to the game I thought there is a good reason – but it seams there is not. Maybe this explains why I have problems with a huge amount of enemies when playing CP. And definitely it explains why my AH army feels quite comfortable.

Yeah, this is a pity because the patch really seems to have made the game a new challenge, so it's a pity to have a game-breaking fault like this in.
If you never played the original version, probably a good idea to de-install the patch and just play one of the earlier versions.
