General Tactis
(Sorry for my English) I try to read a lot of things that have been posted here regarding tactics for Panzer Corps.
But it is nog easy for me to understand everything and there ar no dutch forums regarding Panzer Corps. I play for about 3 months Panzer Corps on Ipad and I like the game alot. I play on lieutenant difficulty but still have trouble to win scenarios. I read a lot about it. I try to follow certain rules, pioniere against entrenched units, artillery to soften targets, artillery in adj hex ... etc.
But I have trouble to take the objectives in the turns that are provided. So I probably have a problem with moving units to the objective.
Can someone please post some general tips, tactics for the game?
What is important in this game and how do you execute this?
Many thanks in advance!

Re: General Tactis
Do you play the original campaign or one of the Grand Campaigns? (I definitely prefer the latter)

My personal recommendation is: watching deducter's videos on youtube. And Lt. Joker has some videos there, too.
Hope, this might help you a bit.

Another simple tactic:
- Kill Russian tanks with Tigers! Nothing weaker shall be permitted!
(Russian tanks are strong, so you'll be wasting a lot of PzII's to kill just one)

I never specified which Russian tanks!huertgenwald wrote:Killing russian tanks with Pz IIs ?

A PzII should do fine against a T-26, and will at least damage a BT-5. That is probably their limit though.

Even with 3* and +2 defence hero, my Panzer 2F can't kill KV1Cs fast enough.
Maybe, it's time for an upgrade?

There are some general rules to be successful in this game. First of all, don't overextend yourself. Attacking one city at a time with overwhelming forces is much better than a desperate struggle for several objectives simultaneously. If the city is not an objective, there is usually no reason to take it.
The game is basically a more complicated version of rock scissor paper. Use your tanks to attack enemy artillery, air defence and infantry in open terrain. Bombers are great for attacking enemy tanks. In closed terrain infantry is the queen of the battle. Artillery is crucial for preparing attacks.
Recon units, at-guns and air defence can be ignored. They are usually not worth buying though at-units and air defence are useful if you are the defending side.
Before attacking a city itself, try to destroy adjacent support units, i.e. enemy artillery and air-defence. Make extensive use of your strategic bombers and artillery if the enemy is entrenched. Those are your most important units for assaulting a city if you don't want to take terrible losses. And believe me, you don't.

Initially, your tanks are weak so there is no reason to rely on them too much. That will change over the course of the war, though.

Re: General Tactis
AA is limited but is cheap and is very good for defence once you get the hang of positioning it correctly. That weak fast Sdkfz 10/4 is for people like me who send their troops out before checking the defensive troops can keep up, and the 88mm is also the best AT gun for several years.Egge wrote:Recon units, at-guns and air defence can be ignored.
Some time around late 43 you will start meeting equal or better fighters and experienced AA - including fast (very annoying) mobile AA. Your planes will start taking a lot of damage and AA starts to become more useful. Since under 1.2 rules experience makes a big difference for AA, it pays to plan ahead and develop one or two units early.
But then the ability to play in several different ways is one the good things about PanzerCorps.

I think I'm getting better at the game. Playing at Lieutenant level, I start having decisive victories now and then.
But still having troubles with moving and zone of control.
Almost done with wehrmacht campaign. Now at Berlin.
Lost a lot of core elite units after overlord.
Now I'm decicing whether to start with GC, desert campaign or allied corps...

I must say that really sums it all up. Bang the nail with a hammer and not with a screwdriver, and do it hard!Egge wrote: The game is basically a more complicated version of rock scissor paper. Moreover there are a lot of mechanics that influence prestige and not all of them are obvious. Because I had a hard time to collect all the relevant information I summed it up in a guide.
