Pike and Shot and FOG-R

Post by iandavidsmith »

I read a review and it said that Pike and Shot is actually FoG Renaissance , is this the case ?
As a long time FoG player and FoG_R hopeful i would be very interested if this is the case.

RBS ?

The combat mechanisms are pretty much the same as FOGR. There are some differences, mainly a more graduated POA system that allows what would be partial POAs in FOGR which would be difficult to implement in that system. For example, armour advantage and uphill bonuses are somewhat toned down.

There are other tweaks, but it is pretty close to a computer version of an updated FOGR.

It does not claim to be the computer version of FOGR because we did not want to be limited to an exact reproduction of the table-top rules. Also we did not want it to be confused with FOGPC as Pike and Shot uses an entirely different engine, and a square grid instead of a hexagon grid.

The principle value of knowing FOGR will be in knowing what the troop classifications mean!
