Landed on the moon as GSA now what?

Post by Numdydar »

Do all the Goals stop and the game turns into a sandbox mode? No race for Mars, asteroid missions, etc.? If this is true, makes the game pretty boring so I'm hoping I am just missing something versus this being true.

quote:
Road to the Moon features the race to the Moon, the historical event that started in the early 1960s and that ended in July 1969, after the successful completion of the Apollo 11 mission.

Everything after moon landing will be in the sequels, first space shuttle and station stuff and then mars.

I did find out that the short term goals do continue, but I really expected a lot more after the moon landing. As it is very much a let down to accomplish the landing and then nothing. Makes the game and experience feel very unfinished.

I'm hoping that I can transfer some of the saved games I've played and reopen them in Parts 2 and 3, and keep playing on.

My hope is that after the space planes, a lifting body like the HL-10 or X24B (or a possibly fictional Russian equivalent) can be developed into a personnel-only shuttle. The technology of the 1980s (heck, even today) makes cargo/passenger shuttles too complex and too big to be efficiently overhauled and made ready for flight. A Columbia-type shuttle takes too much time and costs too much money, aside from having too much to go wrong.
