Ambient sound

Post by knulle »

hi there,
i really like your crisis in comand series... got them all / enjoyed them all :)

but, i would like to hear more ambient/mood sounds and songs when looking at the map screen.
most of the time you are looking at the map trying to figure out what to do next, so here is where the most time of the game is spend.
when i press briefing there comes sound but not during mapscreen. i think the overallfeeling of the game would be much greater/intense or just better when you have more background and war sounds during the mapscreen (ie. airplanes flying by, artillery strikes incoming, dessert winds, flakk sound etc.) this would give you more of a battlefield feeling.
also would be nice hearing speeches and songs while playing
maybe you can add this as an additional in the settings menu.
hope u undertand how i mean this...

greetings from germany...Boris

PS: hope you never stop making ww2 games, what about operation market garden ;)

Thanks for the feedback, Boris.

Do you feel the desert sounds on the map too quiet vs Unit Movement/Combat? How high do you have your volume set, and what device are you on?

I like your idea about putting the Briefing Audio throughout the game. Its a little tough because there is actually a ton of context sensitive music and sound effects on the map. My initial worry is that they would clash. (Making the feature a little harder to implement)

hi Miguel,
thx for your reply

i got an ipad 2 64gb

first i mean puting briefing audio throughout the game would be really cool (cause i really like the sounddesign but it just could be more ;-) and a littlebit more heroic.
i really dont get the context sensitive music on the map, could be that it is too quiet compared to unit movements. but at all i think its too less compared with drive on moscow, where you had these cool plane flying by frosty snow effects etc.

PS i got so many wishes about your games. would be cool to help your team as some kind of CD ;)
must be a lot of work but a lot of fun. so i undestand that its hard to implement and your worries about clash.
but maybe u can give it a try...
Boris...

Drive on Moscow also has distinct sounds for each season, which isn't relevant in Desert Fox.
