Re: MK Campaign 2015?
Never too early to start preparing, esxpecially as its a team comp and we have to get three armies ready.

In the words of Second Technician Arnold Judas Rimmer of the Jupiter Mining Corporation ship Red Dwarf: "...in a previous life I was Alexander the Great.... 's Chief Eunuch". The military is in Rimmer's blood.

Re: MK Campaign 2015?
Good news that it's back at the centre MK (cut and paste from MKWS website below) but I've seen nothing on periods from Darrell yet.
After positive discussions with thecentre:mk management, Milton Keynes Wargames Society are delighted to announce the return of Campaign to Middleton Hall, thecentre:mk. Campaign 2015 will take place over the weekend 9th/10th May 2015. We will be working closely with the centre:mk Marketing and Exhibition departments to improve both the presentation of Campaign, and the interaction between Campaign and those members of the public passing through the event. I am sure that all of you that intend being part of Campaign 2015, will be inspired by the challenge of raising the profile of our hobby. I would like to thank the centre:mk management for their enthusiastic support for a continuation of our fourteen year relationship. So, tell the wives and girlfriends its time for shopping in Milton Keynes!

Re: MK Campaign 2015?
thanks Graham, but that wasn't the question. Frankly I'd expect MK centre to beoffering a discount after this years fiasco. But my query was periods, specifically to permit the painting of new armies if required.

Re: MK Campaign 2015?
Seems a bit harsh? I thought they did really well to find a suitable alternative at such short notice. Organising an event must be a pretty thankless task as it is.Frankly I'd expect MK centre to be offering a discount after this years fiasco.
Okay - just checked with the organisers - periods should be published before Xmas.

Re: MK Campaign 2015?
Comment wasn't aimed at mkws, but at the very shabby behaviour of the venue last year. Frankly I'd rather go to daventry and tell the centre mgt that they need to be more professional if they want our business.
Thanks for the info.

Re: MK Campaign 2015?
But that's just the problem, Jon, they don't want our business. Not really. But it sounds like they just might put up with us for a year or two more. And to think, when Campaign used to be held at Woughton Campus I used to be shy at the thought of real people, the customers of the leisure centre, seeing me playing with toy soldiers !! Oh the shame, oh the humanity ! Luckily my skin has thickened up a bit since then and am happy to be gawped at by bewildered civilians and bypassers. Bring it on !

Re: MK Campaign 2015?
The Wargames gets the venue cheaply so if anybody paying real money comes along they get itAlexandersChiefEunuch wrote:But that's just the problem, Jon, they don't want our business.

The organisers are going to have to get their skates on, Pete, if the periods are going to be published before Christmas.petedalby wrote:

To be just as fair, Jon, that's not a wholly convincing argument from m'learned friend. 2014 is implied. I say implied, sir !azrael86 wrote:To be fair he never said which year

Re: MK Campaign 2015?
How's the vote going. Keen to know the period options. Central London might well be able to get 3/4 teams together again. But we'll need to know options for some of the newer players. Dave.

Dave - I would be interested in continuing with you in a team after our stirling performance last year?

Presumably that should read Immortal Fire - Early Carthaginian, and not Later Carthaginian ?
